Jesus creep, I was at Indy 500 last May and I had a chance to see and even touch this no. 77 car in the team garage.
Now Wheldon was killed in it....Ouffff!!!!! RIP Dan. And I also have some toughts for Tag. Must be very rough on him.

I was just riding with him out at IMS with Team Chevy in a 2011 vert, turning laps at 150MPH and it was one of the best times I had out at IMS! He was a personable guy and said he admired me for my occupation as I admire his.
Dan will be missed as Motorsports has lost a champion and great guy! My prayers to his wife and two young sons.

Just found out about this after watching football all day. I just can't watch that video. I was thrilled with his last Indy 500 win. Won't be the same without him. Utterly heartbreaking.

This is the second time I've watched my current favorite CART/IndyCar driver die on live TV. (First was Greg Moore in 1999.)
Condolences to Dan's family, friends, crew and all racing fans out there.
