The national weather service says its 8.3 annually at Sky Harbor to exact. Another fun fact, no snow has hit the ground in down town Phoenix since 1939.

Same thing in Scottsdale on Frank Llyod Wright and Pima December 2001. Key emphasis on neither was downtown Phoenix. Apparently that stuff that fell last December was soft hail and not snow. This is photo is the only time I ever saw it below freezing in 10 years in the Valley:

It kills me because I run for an hour and half in the morning. Late November to late February its been 35 to 40 before the sun comes up. It will still be 55 to 70 in the day mind you.

Well this one has burnt 33,000 acres in a day. We've NEVER seen fires like this in Texas. And today is supposed to be worse than yesterday. So who knows. 540? Thats nuts!

I agree lighter clothing and loose joints in the heat are easier to do than in the cold. It was 90 when I got up to run at 4:30 AM this morning, so long as the sun ain't out I'm good.

Well you gotta keep in mind this area is almost completely devoid of human civilization. Really the only place that got threatened was Alpine with 256, Greer with 177 and the Spingerville/Eager area with less than 6,500. Basically they just put up fire lines near population centers and let the rest burn.
