We have all sorts of courses here at the academy. They train us pretty much for everything. And, seeing as though something like 60 to 70% (can't remember the specific number) of our accidents are from backing up (hitting poles, etc), they had us do an entire course in reverse last year.

Well, you start off going forward through a couple of turns and then it all turns to the fun part once you throw it in reverse. I wish I had video....THAT was fun!!!

And, I wish I had the fastest time in our course, but there was two guys (that I knew of) that beat me out by a second or two.

Now...our bike course (actual bicycle course) is very similar to that. It's all about balance and timing. Some people just can't hack it. Others, who have been riding for years, ....walk in the park.

Yep. We get to do some fun stuff! (albeit, it IS for training)
Several years ago I tried out for CHP and was hoping I could eventually make it back to the academy to teach driving but I was not randomly selected... Anyways, I thought this was pretty cool. I work about a mile away from the academy now, and hear them at the firing range and have watched them at the course when I was working nearby a couple times. It looks like SO much fun!!!

Holy Shit that is some serious maneuverability skills right there - and with a 400+ pound machine too. I wish I was half that good.. Only been riding for 4 years though.

That takes a lot of skill to pull off, not to mention not even graze one cone. I have about a decade experience with bikes and I couldn't even come close to that.

Wow. So with the whole Epic Fail intro i was expecting something bad to happen the whole time was slightly disappointed, but that was definitely impressive.

not impressed ... I could have done it in 1:45 (or less) riding backwards, placing extra cones along the route for a total of minus 238 cones knocked over. Yeah, thats right ... over 2 cones placed per second. While riding a motorcycle. Backwards. You may bow down before me now.

The bike would be pointing forward, I'd be riding it backwards, sorry for not making that clear
