Wow. Just found this thead.
Well all I can say is that any pain she had is over. It's all about you now and I know it sucks. The only thing worse is having to do it yourself. Ask Bonnie about it. I had to do it to our dog. Dogs are different (to me) than the rest of the animal world. They didn't earn the name 'Mans Best Freind' for nothing. Diseases like that suck too. Ours had Parvo and the vet had already told us there was nothing further he could do. The kids and Bonnie wouldn't let me have the vet put the dog down so we took it home while our daughter prayed for the miracle she hoped would happen. I got up to go to work a few mornings later and the dog was so bad off that I couldn't allow the kids and Bonnie to wake up to a sight like that so I took the dog away at 2am and did what I had to do. Dogs are awesome. You still have the pics. Enjoy those. When my sons dog got hit by a car he erased all pics we had of the dog. I asked him why and he told me (in tears) that maybe it would be like she never was here and he would feel better. :( Shit........ I'm lumping up remembering the poor little guy anguishing over his little dog. Enjoy the memories. Sorry for the loss. Really sucks. |

Idealy I could have let the vet do it but I couldn't let the kids and wife wake up to see what I saw. Your dog was beautiful. Are you gonna get another? |
