Actually it has more to do with "bra" being short for "brazier." Yes, it holds up two breasts, but it is one article of clothing. Many words we use in a modern sense have origins that far pre-date what we apply the word to today. The word "cargo" has long been in existence before the word "car." "Car" is not a root word.

I in no way condone, advocate nor participate in the interjection of colloquial slang into my dialect or any other where the integrity of the meanings expressed or otherwise implied may be misinterpreted or compromised in any way shape form or fashion! All "puns" are acceptable however. Only proper grammar will be tolerated! Exacerbation of a possibly calm composed situation in which the scenario could turn volatile or violent are not appreciated.
