I'd be all over dropping cams in the V6.

I have a 2LT and 2SS and the insurance difference is noticeable then take into account gas at 4.00 a gallon for regular then add .40 for super and factor mpg for the heavy foot. The V6 is more better to run around in and a modded V6 has more cool points as everyone already knows the V8 spanks.

I'm worried that the coming engine change is going to nuke all of the current V6 owners chances of getting quality performance upgrades. That's something worth discussing!

[/v6 vs v8 drama]

i say yes to cams for the v6. they wont be 4-5K. Just waiting for someone to take the leap of faith and do it. Hopefully it will sound similar to the 4th gen v6 cammed.

He doesn't have an LLT to work on. Somebody local needs to step up and let him use the car, then it's a done deal. He WANTS to do it, he just doesn't have a car to use.

I was saving for FI; but F that. I'd be stoked for this. Too bad I'm in Chicago! :'( I bet Gretchen is right about numbers. In the Cobra [also DOHC, but v8] I got 10% without a doubt. intake & exhaust were already installed and it definitely woke everything up; and it sounds friggin MEAN. I'd be down for cams.... intake, exhaust, headers, shifter, cams... the Camaro will be running low 13 no prob. probably yeah, 360-370hp. Thats NUTs for a v6! Im excited. This pretty much needs to happen now.

Just put your car on a car hauler and ship it down to SC2150! It' really not to terribly expensive... (at least it didn't used to be... )

Should have an update on this in another week or so. It's not super secret, but I'll let him update you when he gets freed up a bit.

We have located a few wrecked V6 cars just need the budget to get one so we can get this going (or a doner car).

If you getting a doner engine means we can look forward to things like possible cams, ported intake manifolds and heads, then I say setup a donatable paypal account or soemthing. I'd be more than happy to donate a few bucks if it helps get the ball rolling.

I cant imagine more than 15 wrhp gain with cams. Generally Ive not seem them do much for V6s/4 bangers.
