Ram HD takes highest tow rating spot

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/10/2...o-2011-reveal/

800 pound of feet of torque, 22700 pound tow rating and does not require urea injection to meet emissions.

Jesus.

I remember when they came out with their new style in 1993. The one-ton diesel dually then would do 10,000 pounds. Jesus. My 2010 half ton Ford now will do over 10,000. It's crazy to see how far all the manufacturers have progressed.

Dodge is like 100 pounds more than the ford rigth now. And Chevy is within a couple hundred pounds too. I don't know how much more they can go before you would need a heavier license class here to drive one.

I believe 26k pounds is when you need some sort of extra licensing for extra weight. Not positive though. The nicest thing about the dodge is they get the best fuel economy and the most pulling power as well. And the longevity of a cummins. Couldnt ask for a better truck off the showroom floor. A few mods and 1000 ft lbs is within very easy reach.

Brother told me about this tonight. It's amazing how they've seemed to come out of no where with this big power bump!

It's the FERD F-TEENTHOUSAND!

Seriously; if they keep this pace, the 2018 Ram HD will require the forfeiture of your first born son and a Class A CDL..

I think they have probably been working on it for a while and just kept it a good secret until the show. Same with the tradesman (hemim power fleet truck for less than 23k) and the Adventurer (Hemi, 20 inch rims fog lights, monochrome exterior) for less than 24k. They are really trying to build themselves up right now.

I have a 2011 3500 Laramie Mega Cab dually 4x4 with all the options except moonroof. This thing rides like a Lexus, totally silent inside. Back up camera, exhaust brake, video and tv in backseat,a/c seats, heated rears.

Christ.. it's like the Titanic/QM2/Carnival Cruise ship of Mega Pickups.

Is there an optional pool w/ waterslide for the bed?

I've never seen a megacab/shortbed/dualie combo before, I actually like the proportions a lot!

PS, nothing says 'made it' like a diesel pulling a 30+ foot boat and poodles frolicking about.

I had the same model in a 2006,but when they started making other brands use exhaust injection,I got worried. That fluid you use for the exhaust is expensive, and if you run out it won't allow the truck to start. The Cummins runs cleaner, and doesn't need it.
I'll bet you could stand outside of Ford and GM after the announcement, and hear a collective,"oh shit!"
