I won't spit on your import, but don't try to justify your purchase by saying that it was built in America, so it's an American car. I'll just laugh in your face and drive off in my real American car.

Yes, I've owned nothing but GM, I'd buy a Ford before I went foreign. Strike that I would never buy a foreign car, not that they don't look or run good enough it's just trying to keep my money in the US or much as I can.

You don't have to worry about that. Japan has never really understood how to make a proper muscle or pony car.

I'd rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford (although that situation never really comes up). But I'd still drive the Ford before I'd take the wheel of a foreign car.

My dad has worked at GM for 35 years. Aside from him disowning me, I feel no motivation to shop foreign cars. I honestly think GM has a vehicle in just about every category that beats the competition. Aside from Aston Martin (as mentioned above), I have no desire to own an import.
Now, how do I feel about imports. I generally respect them when they have something to respect. However, I cannot stand it when toyota and nissan fans say things like "American cars just suck. They always will and always have. GM's engines are awful". Aside from snickering to myself, I can't even engage these people in a civil discussion. A couple weeks ago a friend of mine slid off the highway in his toyota Camry, and got blasted by an escalade. He was ok, and got a check for something like $10k towards a new car. A couple days later he called me all excited about getting a used Scion TC. I wanted to remain happy for him, but I couldn't help grind my teeth. He was telling me how fast it is, and how its a manual, and I kind of wanted to slap him. Perhaps it is a childish attitude, but he knows my father works for GM and I buy nothing but American. I'm glad he is happy with is purchase, but I am thoroughly looking forward to getting next to him at a stoplight in the 'maro.

Is "Buy American" a factor in your purchase decision?
I try to Buy American when ever possible regardless of what I am purchasing

I buy American when possible. There's nothing particularly wrong with imports. I've driven them. I just don't feel that I should encourage foreign investment when superior products are produced domestically.
People who claim that domestic cars "suck" really irk me. How do they suck? They drive as far, as fast, and as long. It always makes more sense to support your country when you have a choice of similar styles at the same price when it comes to anything. For most people who buy cars, they like aspects of a lot of cars. They only get attached after the purchase. When some components really draw people, it makes sense to commit to a brand or product, but most people would be just as happy in a Toyota as they would be in a Dodge. It amazes me that people close themselves off to the options that serve their countrymen the best. I have nothing against the Japanese, but I don't buy their cars or anyone else's because I'd rather keep Americans employed. I guess most people don't really think about the implications of their decisions.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
