:( I always wanted a WS6 Firebird, but it was never meant to be. So sad.

I think there are still some of these around in various spots around the nation. Obviously, political correctness eradicated such classic stuff.

Truely a sad day for auto enthusiasts. My dad worked in sales and as a manager at a Pontiac/Buick dealer through most of the 1960's and again at the same dealer in the 1980's. I also worked there as a lot boy/car detailer as a teenager in the early 1980's. Some of my earliest car memories were in 1960's Pontiac's that my dad would bring home. Pontiac may be leaving but it's legacy will live on through some of the iconic cars that came out of that GM division including what is recognized as the first muscle car..the GTO. R.I.P. old friend.

This was the one that I wanted! I loved the white scheme with those white wheels! This came out when I was a senior in high school!

My first car was Pontiac. '75 T/A. It was always my favorite GM division. They defiantly lost their way over the years, but still really sad.

So long Poncho.

Chevrolet had racing pedigree. He was a race car driver. That alone meant something to GM over Pontiac. If the people stopped talking about Pontiac and their over cladding body panels, and how the camaro was virtually the same car and all, it might still be here? Too many whiners in this world and unfortunately GM listened.
Also, corvette and camaro are chev and share from the same parts bin usually. Why would corvette share with Pontiac? Remember... Corvette has alot of ruling power at GM.
Remember the FIERO program? They were out-performing the vettes and corvette made sure the fiero program died. That was the start of the Pontiac ousting in IMO.

The overcladded body panels and the fact that they were nothing more than rebadged Chevrolets are just two among the many reasons why Pontiac is no more.

No more room for rebadging at GM. Hell, even the next-gen full size trucks/SUVs aren't supposed to look like each other.

And I do remember the Fiero program...and how a ton of them lived up to their names...

R.I.P. to a great American car company. I Had many awesome Pontiacs over the years. This '76 TA was my first car in the early 80's. Kids today
get $40,000 new cars gifted to them on their 16th birthday. I bought this one with paper route, lawn mowing, and dishwashing money.

I'll have you know that my over-cladded Pontiac is much more than a re-badged Chevrolet ... its a re-badged Oldsmobile!

And yet Trans Ams were always outrunning their Chevy counterparts out of the factory box even at the end of 2002. Even with the same engine, trans, chassis.. etc.

Can someone jog my memory as to what the answer was in 2002 to Pontiac's WS6 package?

Heck, even the Firehawks posted the faster/higher numbers out of the twins in 2002.

At least in some form they kept that mindset and brought it to the 5th gen. Splitting them up may have been why they sold so low.. but bringing the best of both worlds in F-body land..

MUSTANG SALES RAEP!
