Hey all!!!

Was wondering if anyone has had experience with a 350z. Ive been looking through used cars and know the 350z was and is very popular, and unlike the Camaro :(, in my price range....

Has anyone driven one? raced against one? friends own them? rumors/gossip? Experiences?

Also, im wondering what the main differences throughout the 03-08 years were in body, engine, etc. I cant find specific info on what changed throughout the years

all i know is to look out for a certain model year. im not sure which one but there was a year where the car was significantly slower than before.

The last generation Mustang GT or Camaro Z28 would be a better buy IMO, but whatever floats your boat.

i agree. but the problem is v8 = bad insurance :( even an older model. my friend had his insurance checked from a v6 mustang to mustang gt and it was nearly 1,200$ more per year or something big like that.

I can understand you there. It was the 2003-05 that were the slowest of the group, so get an 07-08.

I sold my Z for my camaro. head over to my350z and start reading up.

if getting an 03, verify it doesn't have transmission (MT) issues, doesn't have tire feathering. avoid getting an 06 manual as the rev up engine setup was a serious oil burner. 07-08's have the dual intake engines (VQ35HR) and are the most powerful 350z. they also have upgraded headlights and tail lights that look worlds better then the older Z's.

03-05 have the VQ35DE engine, 35th anni models have the 'rev up' version of the VQ35de (higher redline / little more power), 06 models have the rev up version of the DE

04.5+ models have a revised spring rate in their suspension and handle better.

different trim levels.. you need to study these if buying one, because the dealer will not know a damn thing about the car. while shopping I didn't have a single dealer tell me the correct trim level of the 350z I was looking at.

base (lacking pretty much everything.. one tire fire ftl!)

enthusiast (adds vicious limited slip differential, HID' headlights, cruise control, tcs and more.. easiest way to tell is if you see the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel)

touring (adds leather seats, boss shitty sound system .. other goodies. easiest way to tell is it has steering wheel controls for audio as well as traction control on the other side)

grand touring (adds brembo brakes and rays light weight forged wheels and other goodies)

track (light weight forged wheels, brembo brakes etc)

nismo (07-08 only, limited edition, easy to tell via the aero kit it has)

I had an 04.5 350z w/ auto trans and the manual shifting was very responsive, I miss that aspect. with bolt on mods my car was a high 13s car. the manuals are a bit faster, some broke high 12s with bolt ons.

overall it's a fun little car, just too small and impractical for me. I enjoyed it for the couple of years I had it.

false. they are all pretty close to one another. the VQ35DE is not much slower then the VQ35HR.

the mustang is one of the most popular and affordable sportscars on the market. many young drivers wreck them and the rates are very high.

it's worth getting a quote on a car if it peaks your interest.

Its a good car; I had one, an 03 Enthusiast
it had a full exhaust /intake/ and a plenum spacer+ a Technosquare ECU reflash
Moved onto a 370z..
I'd just get an Enthusiast if I were you; get some aftermarket seats/ aftermarket headunit, BBK and some wheels + coilovers

ehh.... around 16-20k, but im not buying just yet. I still got bout 9 months or more lol just reading up, getting facts/figures



@Jay J- Im not looking at modding it in any major ways besides CAI, nice exhaust, and maybe some new rims if my wallet doesnt scream mercy

What model should i look at? I dont want a convertible for sure. I think 07-08 model is the one in the picture is posted, but they have that weird looking hood "hump". its not like the line "hump" the camaro has, but more of a circle lol

The 370 feels real solid vs the 350 also feels much nicer inside

You can get some decent wide wheels for cheap I know a few...
And also the plenum spacer is cheap as well
