"County officials said insurance for the event didn't cover a concert. The contract was canceled Tuesday."

Seems to be a bit of spin in that article, first is say cops said no, then they say they didn't have insurance for a concert.

And like any big event, no insurance, no event.

Story ain't about cars or a car show, it's about criminal elements getting together where there could be violence. To my knowledge, you can't get insurance for making sure no innocent bystanders are shot during a gang fight

then by that standards they should of stopped Hot august nights from going on after gangs started a fight there years ago. but we are on the 25th or so anniv of Han & still going strong.

There was a car show & it was cancelled due to the fact of rap music & gangs lol you should read the comments on the seattle times forum about it lol.

What gangs?
It's a concert, not a gang meeting. This is just typical people jumping to conclusions. Unless the rappers are publicaly affiliated with a gang, there is absolutely no reason to think there will be gangs present, or any type of crime going on.

Stupid reason too cancel a car show if you ask me.

I can very well see the consern by the local law depending on the type of group playing. [little old ladies that only carry a bibles arn't the main fans of ganster rap

] And if that local area has gang problems and the event holder has no insurance for the concert or proper security, like metal dectors at the gate....

They can easily use the no insurance loop hole as a good excuess.

But the event holders should know to get the support of local law before an event and make them fully aware of all said plans months ahead of time to take care of any such dips in the road.

Use to do setup and security at concerts and a good event manager knows better.

Id put it all on the event holders.
