The damage done to his car looks far better than what happened to my car when I got hit sitting at a stoplight.

Airbags didn't deploy, and the car wasn't totalled. No frame damage, and the cost to repair was $11,500. Yours is a side impact, no way to tell if frame was bent/damaged from the picture. Still, the airbags didn't go off, and many times I've seen that be the determining factor in whether they total the car or not.

I don't know why how much damage he got is really relevant to what happen. I would like to know if the cop got his ass in sling or just got a slap on the wrist. I know others have said cops are only human ,but really that is bs. They are trained to be held to a higher standard than the average driver and need to be held accountable when they don't live up to those high standards.

i had 3605 on the odometer when i got hit for my 1st time... i also got hit again in the rear just a month ago... that was from the rear and it was me getting backed into by a van. but this one i got backed into by this retarded lady in a cavalier while i was going onto base... she threw it into reverse and backed over the speed bump in front of me and then over my car. it blows but shit happens. and my car drives just fine as i had it fixed by my dealer both times. yours on the other hand may or may not drive properly due to the extent of the damage incurred. i hope it works out well for you.

I was hit once in a vehicle I owned 1 week, it took out the bedside of my new truck, not only did they fix it they didnt even replace the fender they repaired it. not a great feeling

Most cops are jerks!They think they can do whatever they want and get away with it.As a Truck Driver not only am I held to the same standard as other drivers,but I am held to a higher standard.Dont tell me about cops being behind the wheel all day,so they should get a break.Nobody is saying give that truck driver or for that that matter anyone else because they have been driving all day.I see cops all the time pass me up like I was standing still,just trying to get back to thier home base.(probably quitting time)Im really sorry about your car.I hope that idiot that hit you gets what is coming to him,but he will probably get off with a slap on the wrist.

I so disagree with your statement cops are jerks. I have many cops in my family and have many friends that are cops. They are hard working people who truly care about their community and risk their lives everyday. I am sure you have seen some bad cops or cops that have used their power for bad, but what job does not have these types of people? There are bad people in every job. Just remember when and if you ever are in need of a cop he/she will be there protecting you or helping you when you need it.

I appreciate your opinion,but from my point of veiw I cant stand cops.I hate them.Im sure there are good ones out there,but from my expierence it just seems like that is not the case.

my family is made of cops and a retired atf agent, i have nothing but respect for police. I never said i hate cops, but its cops like this that i feel should be given a second look when making such a simple yet ridiculous mistake.

I have been informed by my attorney as well as some paper work i have received from the borough, stating that all nj municipalities are protected from lawsuits and claims being filed against them under state statute #59.

so to be simple, i cannot sue them for any damages, and the will only pay my deductible. is this not the biggest case of BS? if this was the other way around, and I had t-boned a police officer after running a stop sign etc etc...my life would be ruined.

I have also recieved my police report, which is lacking my statement COMPLETELY and a few other bits, but they do admit 100% fault. have to get it amended so it has all the facts.....so much fun
