I mean come on, a 4 door charger that only comes in an auto and a 4100+ lb Challenger (granted I still love that car despite that its a total fatass)? Not to mention I can't think of a car in their line that's not huge and heavy besides econo models. They seem to be going for a more refined "gentleman's muscle car image." Kinda what I see when I very occasionally see them at the track supports that too. I've never seen anybody in one who could drive for shit! At least they were out there doin it though. That in itself deserves some credit.
You are totally off base with this whole post. To many generalizations. Most people who drive these cars are dodge fans and have been for a long time. I grew up in a dodge family (dart, barracuda, roadrunners) and I love the look of the charger and challenger. I personally love dodge and chevy muscle cars, not all of them. My father and both brothers are dodge to the grave and they are mechanics, not doctors. I am a pharmacist and can afford much more expensive cars, but I drive a camaro and a charger. The challenger looks awesome, but was too overpriced compared to the camaro, but if chevy didn't bring back the camaro I would have a challenger SRT.

So since I have a charger I can't drive for shit?? Come on..

The prices haven't been confirmed yet by Dodge.

It is still over priced and under performing.

That being said, I dam near bought one anyway.

Black1lt, i love your cuda and wanna see pics when finished. What an awesome find. My favorite muscle car by far is the 70-71 'cuda and 67-68 barracuda, followed by my nova (68-71).

Thanks man!! It won't be finished for a few years though, but I consistently work on it. I wish they would have made a new 'Cuda instead of the Challenger. The lines of the 'Cuda are so much nicer, especially in the quarter panel. It wouldn't matter if they did though because the Camaro is so good looking that even a new 'Cuda would fall short in comparison. Rob

Unfortunately for them, I love my first ever GM product after driving it fro a little over a year now. Anyway, did you say 1970 'Cuda? Your speaking my language. My current Mopar is and all original, numbers matching 440 + 6. It has a factory Shaker hood (N96) and is a California car, so it has very little rust. It is currently all apart and being restored. Here is a photo the day after I bought it before I took it all apart. Rob
Now that 'Cuda is my type of car One day I hope to have one....

Maybe it is the higher prices, but I don't see alot of younger guys in the Challengers though.
Maybe its just something about this area. I dunno man. Not my intention to offend anybody.

I think you took my post a little too literally.....fair enough though I can see how one would. All I'm saying is MOST of the people NOT ALL that I run into at shows with them, or at the track, or whatever seem to by and large be white haired dudes having a mid-life crisis or some yuppie and half the time it seems like I'm more excited about their car than they are. I already said I love the car still. I didn't say EVERYBODY who drives them is like that, I didn't say everywhere was the same, nothing like that. Just saying that's most of what I run into with them. This is not bashing people with money, or dodge people as a whole. I love all kinds of different cars and think people should do whatever makes them happy. As a side note, I never even generalized "dodge guys". Just who Chrysler seems to be targetting with this current lineup given the price/general attitude of them. They seem more luxury based. Not necessarily a bad thing! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmkay. By the way Black1lt, I love your cuda! Looks like an awesome project!

Very nice Cuda.... I sold a 70 gran coupe convert 383/4speed car for a friend of mine a few years ago, only because I couldn't afford the price tag.. I can't say I'm a gm guy, ford guy, or chrysler guy.. i'm a CAR guy... I like some cars from all the camps... Good luck with the restoration..

Those cars will have a chance @ being collectible. The Camaro SS that is selling like hot cakes? well not so much, but I don't care I want the thing to DRIVE not to keep in a garage...

Same here. Went down to the Dodge dealership when the Challengers first came out and couldn't believe the sticker. Decided I could wait the extra year for the Camaro and glad I did.

These prices are speculation, plain and simple. There are also about 5 million guess posts at the new 6.4's hp/tq output as well.

Personally we just put another 1600 miles on the wifes challenger this past weekend and it was awesome. To each his own will always be the moral of the story when talking about car purchases. We wave at all camaros, and challengers. We dont bother with mustangs cause we'd look like we were in a parade we'd be waving so damn much.

Dealership near me still has a couple of 09's on the lot. 10,000.00 more than my ss-rs.
