YES!!! ---- my boyfriend, now husband, taught me when he bought his first manual....he taught me the basics, however I really caught on when I knew what to do and just kept practicing BY MYSELF, without being nervous that he was watching me...

Every car we owned after that was a manual....the best compliment I ever got was when my son told me I was the best stick driver he ever saw...high praise indeed coming from a teenage boy...lol...

BTW, my Camaro is an automatic...'been there, done that' with the stick, and since I plan on driving this car until I die or it dies, I have nothing to prove...

Yes - but not with your camaro... find a beater or something you don't care about. You're less likely to turn into a jerk with something you don't care about. We all know what happens when we turn into Jerks while trying to teach our women something.... :upset:

I can't convince my wife to try to learn to drive the Camaro. I've offered to teach her just about every day since we've had it (10 days ago).

My wife had a VW Beatle with a 5 spd and is smoother with the Camaro than I am, she also is way more protective of it, she has a hard time even parking in the same zip code as another car... And she does get the PermaGrin thing that is pretty cool, her only complaint is she said she can't see over the cowl.

No - she'll always want to drive it if you teach her.

I had my 95 Z28 from 2000 to 2009 & my wife from 2001 to present... she drove the Z once... to move it from one side of the street to the other for street cleaning.
She never asked to drive that one & she has not showed any interest in driving my 2010 (both automatics) other than once saying she should trade her Saturn in so we can have matching his & hers 2010 camaros.
She will never drive my beater truck either because that is manual & she refuses to learn a manual transmission.

I agree with the person who said to rent one to teach her. that way she won't do anything to yours or cause emotions to flare.

Or you can just buy her one of her own... which you may end up doing anyway if you let her drive yours.

i say go to a parking lot, turn off all the nannies and tell her to put her foot in it, she'll either freak out or surprise you and know how to handle it.... told mine to punch it so she knew what it felt like and it was all smiles, who knows how she drives it when i'm not around.
