Unhappy Ding on Rear Bumper - Need advice

So yesterday my roommate pulled up a little too close to my Camaro. When he put his car park it lurched forward and gave my rear bumper a good tap.
I think the screw head from his license plate was the only part to make contact. My car was covered at the time so it didn’t really leave a scratch as much as 2 small indentations in the plastic.

Now the obvious fix is to sand the bumper down, fill the dimples and repaint, but to be honest it's really not worth doing that, the dents are very small. At this point I would rather wait until the car really needs work done and get it all done at once.

So... I was wondering if anyone else has had any luck using a heat gun, or pouring very hot water on dents like that? I'm hoping the heat makes the plastic swell back up and pop out a bit... What do you all think?

I'll try and grab a picture or 2 after work today. Thanks in advance.

Here is my .02;

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sure, I'd be just as upset over any imperfection, initially. I'm still that way with my '99.

But I've learned to look at it as inevitable...no matter how careful you are, "things happen".

So personally, I'd wait and leave it be for the time being. As sure as the sun rises, there's going to be another issue, and at that point, I'd correct the bumper.

As you said, it's small, so I'd live with it for the time being.

a fix-a-dent service could probably fix you right up.

Yeah,
I've got a couple small scratches on my rims and one light scratch on the passenger side door. Like you said their isn't much you can do, it happens.

I agree it would be best to just save em up and get all the screw ups fixed at once. The paintless dent guys usually do not mess with this because they deal with metal not plastic. Heat can work on larger, more rounded "dents" but not on sharp, small ones. Show some photos?
