Audio Headphones

So I see people wearing these DJ style cans, and I always just assumed they were trying to look cool or 'retro'.

Turns out some of those can's make music sound cool as shit.

My brother has a pair of Studio Beats, and they are really incredible. Like a sound system on your ears.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm probably gonna buy a pair ($300 +-) to run with my iphone. I'm thinking HD595 Stenn's.

I've got a pair of Sony studio headphones, and they're phenomenal. my set only cost me about 150, but the top of the line sony set is around 700 bucks, i'd except those to be mind blowing.
obviously, their huge downfall is portability, i pretty much use them for airplanes, never really felt comfortable walking around with a huge set of headphones lol, just not quite my style.
for the Sony's, you can spend anywhere from 70-700 bucks on a pair, and anywhere in between.

I actually picked up some Shure SRH440's, and they are pretty impressive. Very true to the sound, no artificial bass. Got 'em for $75, they were a steal. I also have some Senn's, they're all pretty awesome. Its really amazing how much of the music's intricacies you miss with poor sound equipment.

Head over to Head-Fi For some serious Headphone discussions.

Yea I have been over there on and off all day... Those guys hate BOSE like we hate the Prius lol. I want to get the best cans money can buy without having to run them through an amp.

I use Sennheiser PX-100 headphones with my iPod. I love 'em. I tried using big can-type headphones but the ear part gets all sweaty when I wear 'em so I stopped using them.

Sennheiser HD238. Not too big, not too small. Comfy enough to wear for a long period of time and you don't need an amp. They are however open air so others can hear what you are listening to and you can hear them. But open air will give you killer bass without making you feel like you are in a cave. Good price point at around $100.

I use the QC-15 from Bose. Electronic Noise cancelling plus clean clear sound is amazing. They're semi expensive (around 2 or 300 bucks iirc) but you will be shocked at how well they work. I've had these since christmas and I listen to music about 6 hours a day on average while at work. Keeps my focused and I fly through jobs that come in.
