Best 1000hp packages

Before purchasing a stock ZL1 I was wondering what the best place to have a 1000hp package installed? I know there are a bunch of companies doing them out there like Lingenfelter, weapon x, Hennessy, RPM and several more. Just wanting input on who is the best and easy to work with.
Thank you!

Skip the first 3. RPM is good. Add Katech, Vengeance, LMP to your list, and any local shops woth a great reputation. Hennessey and Lingenfelter will give the same thing for twice the price with the same parts.

Hey buddy, I have several recommendations, but before I do... how do you plan on using the car? Street, Track, Drag? The answer to this question will change the list for sure..

Also, are you wanting 1,000rwhp or 1,000 at the crank (850rwhp)...

Thank you for the info! There is not a local shop within a 150 miles of me I would trust with any performance car.

Thank you for responding. I’m looking at 1,000 at the wheels. This will be a street car with the occasional drag strip appearance.

What RobZL1 said! Gabe has helped advise me, many on the users on this forum have help me big time with my build journey as well. I've only every used Katech. I live in Columbus, OH so they were an easy drive 3 hours to and 3 hours from! Not bad considering the distance of the rest. I am at 1006rwhp, maybe I went left, right, backwards, and left again just to go forward (I hope you know what I mean). But, I'm very happy with my build! Good luck on your journey

As someone over that is over that now, I’ll just say:
1. You’ll need E85 (or at least a blend). Hope you’re not planning on using 91 lol
2. Hope you’re planning on having a Smoothboost since you’ll want to dial it down for general street use. Wanting to pass someone but realizing your car is going sideways while doing so gets old very quickly…
3. If you plan on going to the strip, there’s a lot of stuff that comes into play at that level. You’ll need to sign up for an NHRA 9 second license and you’ll need a full fire suit, gloves, helmet. On the car, driveshaft safety loop will be mandatory. And you’ll be on the borderline to needing a full cage and chute if you trap >150 MPH or dip under 9.0 seconds. Driveshaft and axles will come into play at some point too, although the ZL1 versions are better than the SS versions from GM.

What price has your local shop quoted you for a 1k-whp package? Also be advised that your stock short block will likely not live very long at those levels. Mine didn't. My advice is to go with a built motor from the git go.

I haven’t gotten any local quotes as there is not a shop local and would trust taking a lawn mower to let alone a performance vehicle. I will look at built motors as an option as well. Thank you.
