Production VINS for 2018-2019 ZL1s with oil pump issue

My brother has a 2018 Camaro ZLE and he wants to know if his car is in the production range for Oil Pump failure.

Is there a set of VIN#s or production date range where these bad oil pumps were installed?

I searched the forum and not seeing anything that references specific dates or Vin#s, but I may have missed it. I do apologize as I know this issue has been beat to death...I just can't find the specifics!

Any help or pointing me to this information would certainly be appreciated!!!

I think some folks in this thread started posting VINs, but many that have had failed pumps have posted dates:

Went for a short drive to the store with all gauges reading normal pressures and values..etc. Arrived at home with oil pressure around 23psi at idle. 2019 with 28k miles. Thoughts? Oil pump

Probably. Don't start the engine again. Tow it to service.

Most likely your outer oil pump ring/race has cracked. You are on borrowed time.

You can see rpm vs pressure.

Ouch! It pains and upsets me to see that.

If it's a 2018, its likely affected. I seriously doubt any very late production 2018s got the updated pumps.

My 2017 looks the same after driving and the engine warms up. Mine has around 29,000 miles and still no failure. Keeping fingers crossed and watching constantly.

2018 ZL1 with 42K, I'm not waiting for the chance of failure. So later this year the engine comes out and katech oil pump, cam, springs, push rods, lifters, all going in to make it billet proof.

Slightly modded 2018 wit 36,000 miles. Oil pressure has always been within specs since day 1. Hot idle 29-31. Normal highway driving 36-38. Gonna install the Katech this fall or next spring for peace of mind. But so far so good.

Not sure what has changed in the CT5-V Blackwing vs the ZL1 but my 2024 Blackwing idles at 40-42psi hot. Not sure if they use the same oil pump as the ZL1 or not.
