Rear-view Mirror Camera Blue Screen
I searched the forum but mostly found guys with issues with the back-up camera. My rear-view mirror camera started showing a blue screen recently out of the blue.
Anyone experience this and have any advice? Car is under extended warranty so I'm pretty sure it's covered but I really don't want the dealership touching my baby if I can avoid it.

There’s a camera signal wire (FAKRA) that plugs into the mirror and antenna. Check both ends to see if it’s snug, if wiggling the wire doesn’t do anything then the camera’s probably needing replacement.

Is it up in the headliner? I'm guessing there's no way to pop off the shark fin from the outside, right?

The connector is in the headliner, I was able to reach it by laying in the back seat and pulling the rear headliner down a little. Just enough to get your hand in, you can check connections there but it is tight. The shark fin is attached with a 10mm bolt I believe.

If you have the warranty then let them figure it out? Get your money’s worth.

The LT3, 2SS and ZL1 after 2019? have an HD Camera in the Sharkfin that displays on the rear view mirror (can be flipped between an actual mirror or an HD screen)... There is also the "Backup camera" on the trunk which is completely separate...

Well, not sure, but it definitely would require some wiring... I know everyone complains about the 6th Gen "beltline and lack of visibility" but I say with this HD rear view camera and having your side mirrors adjusted correctly, you will have absolutely no blind spots at all, it is actually some of the best situational awareness I have had in a car, the camera is absolutely "game changing", they should have just made it standard equipment on EVERY model level and things would have likely been much better in the long run for the Camaro...

Agreed that this is a game-changing upgrade! After driving a rental sixth gen with the camera mirror, I was sold on upgrading from my 2016 1LT. Once I got my 2021, I was able to ditch the wide-angle clip-on mirror that I had been using in the 2016. And if you want to black out the rear window, you aren't giving up the ability to see what's directly behind you.
