High Flow Cats

I currently have a 2019 2ss with a Borla ATAK axle back. I still want it to be a bit louder but not long tube headers loud. This lead me to looking into high flow cats and a secondary cat delete. Since I don’t want break the bank after dropping 2.5 grand on an axle back I found a decently priced option being the XForce CAT11-300(100 cell). My current idea is to do a secondary cat delete and replace the primary cats with high flow cats. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with high flow cats and oem headers. Also would there be any issues since these are universal fit such as cel or a tune needed?

Have you removed the secondary cats? That will give you slightly more volume.

Not yet. I was planning on getting them done at the same time

I have not heard about replacing primary cats without replacing stock manifolds in favor of headers. Most would consider this a waste of time and money for very little in return.

Tune it like you're intention is to delete the cats. Otherwise you're going to end up with catalyst efficiency codes that never go away.

I second this. Your best option without breaking the bank with your Borla axlebacks is getting the Corsa Double Helix X Pipe with Secondary Cat deletes. I have that X pipe tied to my Corsa Valved NPP Axle Backs and they sound amazing. The primary cats are there to take that edge off as far as rasp is concerned. That would be my suggestion to increase sound.

Another option would be to grab a set of bolt in primary cat delete pipes from Bullet performance and keep the secondary. The secondary cats are basically high flow and will still reduce fuel smell. The biggest bottle neck in the 6th gen Camaro exhaust is just in front of the primary cat pipes where it necks down under 2". So if you are going to go through all the trouble of messing with the exhaust you might as well gain some power too while you are at it. Note this will require a tune.

After reading everyone’s replies I think I may just bite the bullet and go long tube headers then. I’m now looking at speed engineerings long tube headers and mid pipe kit. Thinking it may be the way to go

That's the X pipe I have but run it with AWE track. Had the Xtreme mufflers on it but it was too quiet for me. My car is a non npp car so I have no valves. Single tips out the back. Looking to do a header system soon and I'll sell at least the X pipe.

Hey King, have you actually seen the Bullet pieces? I have found them through search a while back but it looked kinda scammy
Any experience?

Yeah dude your options are basically...
Finding an X pipe that still gets rid of the secondary honeycomb.
Finding a primary honeycomb sayonara.
Doing those 2 things separate or combining the 2.
Or the header route which there's a few ways to do that also.
Does your head hurt yet?
Also, it's a hit or miss going with anything but ARH, Kooks or Stainless works. So you'll be spending some loot if you wanna cover your bases.

If I knew when I'd have my Corsa double X off the car I could sell it to you if that's what you wanted but not sure what I'm doing exactly yet

I have the headers and x pipe. The build quality is great on my headers. The number 5 primary gets in the way of a spark plug socket going in straight. And when the wires are on they lay on number 5 and are really close to 4. Ive melted both of those wires.
The xpipe is a good fit slip on connector to the headers. Aft of the x is very solid mounted. So in my case the engine torques slightly on acceleration and that slight movement vs the aft not moving even a little ,caused my x to crack longways in the bottom of it.
