Your dilemma is exactly why I most likely won't sell my Camaro... I have it pretty much exactly where I want it, but I almost never drive it (850 miles in 2025), and every time I say I might sell it my wife says "HELL NO", she tells me, "You'll regret it because you can't get another one the way you want it and that will piss you off to no end..." So I sit on it, maybe foolishly, maybe not, but when I walk out in my garage, the car that I always wanted is sitting there, if for nothing more than to look at and admire... Even if it is a expensive thing to do...

I wish you the best of luck in your search, however HBM was only a 3 year color from 16-18, so finding a mint condition with your specs is becoming increasingly, extremely unlikely (but I'm quite sure you are aware of that)...

(If HBM was available in 2020, I'm fairly certain my 2020 2SS would be HBM instead of Shadow Gray Metallic...) It's a great color...

Well, if I let go of the sunroof requirement I found a 1 owner 2017 that has all the other options... $38k just seems really steep. I add TTL, Shipping, and by the time I get my MRRs, Red Brembos, etc... I'm mid to upper 40s for something I sold last June for $30k... Ugg that is hard to swallow

Well first of all, you're still dwelling on that mistake. Your 2016 is gone and you let it go for a relatively low price, sure, but it's a done deal, forget about it, don't let emotions sway your purchase decision either way.

Not worrying about a sunroof is a good move, the reverse mohawk roofline looks fantastic and you'd get structural rigidity plus guaranteed no leaks or failures from the sunroof mechanism.

This one looks like a no-option 2SS babied and kept at very low mileage, and I think MSRP was $42,000 back then, so you're looking at buying a 9-year old car essentially for the same price, no warranty whatsoever. Not a good deal, especially since trade-in values for the same car are in the low or mid-20s...

Are you planning any other mods than those you already had? Say, power adders, suspension enhancements...?

They sent me the build sheet for that one. It's a loaded 2SS. It has NPP, Mag Ride... Just no sunroof. No, I'm not looking at any other modes.. Just what I had. I think the MSRP on that was around $46? I could ask them if I could get the original window sticker

Aha, it does have F55 and NPP, so that does bring the MSRP to around $46k. The Carfax report didn't show the window sticker unfortunately.

It's a very early 2017 build though, making the car almost 10 years old. No record of any transmission work, so you'll likely have to deal with the shudder. MRC shocks have a shorter than normal lifespan, too... granted, though, this would have affected your previous car as well.

At the end of the day I'm just mulling over some facts here, it's your money and your call, though

No... I hear you and I appriciate the input.. trust me...

I'm beginning to think this would be a better purchase. Only thing it doesn't have it the MRR 1LE wheels

That is the best advise I have ever read on the internet.

Agreed about the sunroof. When i ordered my last Camaro, I was going back and forth about the sunroof. I was glad I omitted it. It looks 10X better without it. With a sunroof, the roof looks like a bald guys head.

OP, One other thing you could do is get a Hyper Blue ZL1. There should be plenty to choose from and if you wait till fall they'll be a few thousand less. This will make you forget that you gave up your SS because now you can look at it as you gave up your SS for an upgrade. Most ZL1's do have sunroofs, are automatic and come with mag ride and NPP by default. You may even decide not to buy the MRR reps again because the ZL1 wheels are nice. Most should have low enough miles for you too.

If I ever come back to this platform, It will 100% be in a ZL1 or ZL1 1LE.

About a month ago I updated my saved searches on AutoTempst, AutoTrader... etc.. to include ZL1s... I also started looking at C7 Grandsports... but ya... right now is not the best time to be looking at buying any sports car. Maybe waiting till fall isn't such a bad idea. Some of the asking prices on these 6th gens is beyond ridiculous... but if someone will pay it... Hey good on them

Also, I do agree on letting the fact that I sold my car go... but that is easier said then done.

Couple of random thoughts:
1. You can’t touch anything like Camaro SS performance for $37K in 2026. A new S650 Mustang GT Premium gets you to 2SS level but stickers at $51K to start. That said, you do get a brand new car with a warranty to boot.
2. Having said that lol, if you want to mod the car the warranty goes out the window anyway. So the 2017 SS with only 10K miles can make a great platform to mod off of and you’re not paying $14K more for a warranty that you don’t need or want.
3. I’m seeing ZL1’s going for pretty short money these days so that’s getting to be a pretty good bang for the buck candidate now. Something to consider.

Guess you’ll have to think about how you’re going to use the car, how your budget looks, and pick accordingly. Going fast costs money, how fast do you want to go?

This is why the 2SS for me makes perfect sense. I'll never use the power of the ZL1. I used my 2SS for weekend spirited backroads. I don't see that changing. I wouldn't mod anything on it that would effect any warranty.

Debate this for not even 1 day and the car sold already.

Not the right time to be in the game for one of these. I'm out... I'm not paying these ridiculous prices for 10 year old cars.. I just don't care enough about getting another one to overpay that much.

I'm going plan B....
