Hello, never posted here (any any forum like this) so hopefully im doing this right haha.

I have a 2017 2ss I purchased recently. The only thing I don't like are the stock taillights. I really prefer the smoked look.

I was looking at the VLAND ones, does anyone have any experiences with them? I hear there is a hyper blinking issue and people say you can fix it with resistors but I cant find much on long-term if these hold up and there are any issues and if the resistors actually fix them.

Attentively if anyone has something that is a better choice.

They cost ~$400 and you're buying into a slew of potential random problems from hyperlinking through the turn signal going off when hitting the breakes to power draw even with the car shut off.

I'd just buy the smoked OEM set Captain linked to for $700 and call it a day. I've had the same set since 2018 with zero issues, looks and works perfect.

Have you ever bought stuff from here? Worried about the chance of being scammed. Is it just kinda a trust thing or is their anything inplace to prevent someone from just dipping after payment?

Not from this specific seller, but otherwise yes, I bought (and sold) several parts at this site, never any issue.

Scammers are an increasing problem, so due diligence is advised (talk to the seller separately, ask for pictures with his name and the current date on a sticky note, do not send money via paypal as friends & family etc.). This seller has several hundreds of posts, which is not typical for scammers and points to him likely being legit.

I'm a +1 for the OEM dark or smoked taillights and 3rd brake light. # 84136777 is for the dark tail lamps and the
part # 84330249 is for the 3rd brake light. I just found the 3rd smoked brake light at Walmart for $31.19, LED bulb and all! The taillights are harder to find and a good deal more$. I would see if the used ones referenced by the Capt are still available.

84136777 as an upgrade kit was discontinued more than 6 years ago, BUT the individual taillamps that make up the kit, part numbers 84136775 and 84136776, can still be found sometimes.

Bummer! I did not know that. I guess there are drawbacks to keeping a car for 9 years-lol. Good to know, but at least the 3rd light is available for less than I paid for it back then. Good luck OP. I still think the OEM smoked are a good way to go.
