Tire Advice for replacing OEM goodyears
Just seeing if anyone has good advice on a good all season tire to replace the oem goodyear f1 run flats that is not real expensive.
I have 2 sets of wheels for my car, the wheels that came with it I put Michelin pilot sport 4 all seasons on it, I run those in colder months. when I got those they had a sale for buy 3 get one for $1 so a decent deal. I have a second set of wheels that I had put the oem f1 run flats on because they were not going to give me anything for them and they are new since my car only had 7 miles on it when I bought it. was going to go with the michelins again but there are no sales on them now and cost too much. anybody have other good options that are less expensive or a good deal? not really liking how rough the run flats ride, but I may just keep them on for now. also the best place to get the tpms sensor programmer is amazon? i did not realize you needed to program the sensors till the light came on. thanks! and vxdas gl50448 is the correct tool for the sensors ? |

The Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 is tangibly (about $100 per corner) cheaper than the Michelins and just as good, some even consider it better. This tire will also be a massive improvement over the stock runflats.
If you insist on the all-season compromise, I recommend the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus, that will be good enough and relatively cheap. You can't get really good tires for $200-250 these days, unfortunately. Yes, the GL50448 is the correct TPMS activation tool.

Thanks, yeah I ordered the tpms relearn tool last night off amazon, should get it tomorrow.
& I have decided for now to keep the OEM goodyears on, they seem to be riding better now than the first day driving them back home. maybe they needed broken in some or they warmed up. was pricing tires yesterday and wow quite expensive! might as well get the use out of the goodyears since nobody will give anything trading them in. |

Be very careful in the rain, those Goodyears are treacherous.

They tried to kill me a few times in heavy rain with puddles before I switched to the Michelins in 2018 and never looked back.
