Got the Falkens mounted and road force balanced. Had to grind the front strut ever so slightly more but it’s a good fit with about 8mm of space. Suppose to be warm this weekend (85 degrees) so may go for a spirited drive to see how they feel and get some initial heat in them.

Weather was nice today (84 degrees), so decided to throw the Falkens on and go for a drive. First experience ever with a 200tw tire and man do these things grip. They tramline like no other getting on the freeway but you feel planted. Definitely need to drive them a bit more to get comfortable since braking and acceleration are improved. The 18”s also dropped the car almost an inch closer to the ground and it’s definitely something you notice. Almost feels like your foot is on the ground.

Spent Sunday testing the new setup with the Golden Gate Chapter BMW Club. With the short duration of the course, the plethora of "S" turns, and the long wait between drive times, I couldn't really find the limit of the car. Not a huge fan of a cold RT660+ tire, but overall the car netted me the number 4 spot out of 32 competitive drivers. Did have to make a few adjustments, as I noticed the CTS-V brake deflectors rubbed the rim on full turn. Cut quickly and poorly at the event, but cleaned up once I got home with a much cleaner cut and some sanding. Before and after photo.

Finally got around to doing a quick pull up with the new tires. 3/10 of a second faster. Wasn’t expecting that.
Our onboard computers don’t let you really launch without starting the timer and I had the ac on, so it makes me wonder what I could really do if I had the ac off and did closer to a 2.5-3k launch… And at 162,683 miles too. Not bad for a NA 2016 V6.

Decided to take the V6 to get dynoed. Numbers about what I thought at 295hp/290tq. Was estimating 300, which I may be at as the guy doing the dyno kept hitting all the limiters (speed, rpm, automatic A8 shift points) and said that he’s not able to push the car fully. But I’m happy with the results, especially since a NA V6 with 162,000+ miles.

Spent Sunday getting in a few good runs in with the Golden Gate Lotus Club. Ended up posting the 8th fastest time.
