Need new pumpkin?

In years past, to change gear ratio, all I had to do was 12 bolts and a ring and pinion gear. To change ratio on my 24 SS, what all is now needed? And will a tune in the BCM update all the parameters, ie, speedo?

Yes you need to change the rear pumpkin entirely to change gears. Are you auto or stick? Believe 2.77 is rear gear on auto (deeper and more greats in the auto) and manuals get 3.73 rear gear. You’d have to tune the ECM/TCM to get speedo and shift points fixed.

Why do you want to change if I may ask? First gear is VERY steep, even with 2.77 gears. Once you’re in the power band you’ll stay there with the A10 (or A8 for that matter). I suppose if you’re staying NA only then there might be a tenth or two in the quarter by going 3.73 but not sure that juice is worth the squeeze.
