I was going to do a LS but got a really good deal on the Gen v LT1. I built a couple of gen 2 LT1s in my old 94 Z28 and 95 trans am back in the early 2000s. It was a fun car. The Z28 i used a loyd elliot head and cam pgk and my trans am i did a 383 with Joe Overton heads and cam. Definitely fun cars. For her im keeping the engine fairly stock, maybe a small cam for a little chop, probably will go with a 4L80 to back it up.

why not a 90's 4th Gen LT4? the LT1 in the ~1993 camaro was 275, the LT4 corvette had a "hot LT4 cam" available that should be mid 300 HP?

and basically plug & play in a 3rd gen?

and a 700R4 is the MOST FUN in the world, digging hard out of the hole & barking second in an automatic, esp if you get the dual gate manual shifter

So funny you say that. I've been talking to Lloyd Elliott this week. He lives like 10mins from me. He is looking at getting out of his LT1 trans am and going to a 5th gen camaro, so obviously I'm trying to convince him to get a 6th gen.

Yeah back when I had thise cars there weren't a lot of people doing head and cam packages.tell him to get a 6th gen and start doing some gen v LT stuff.
