What's next?
A few friends of mine have gotten new cars recently and I've been looking around, not really interested in getting rid of my Camaro just yet, but just to see what's on the market. My 2016 is 10 years old this month but still running great. It's actually one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned.
Can't find anything appealing at all or resonates with me in any way. Are other 6th gen owners feeling the same way? I feel like I'm going to keep this thing forever. |

I wont sell mine.
I drug a 1987 mkiii supra out of a field. Did a 2jz swap on it with a big single turbo, did a full build and tuned it myself. I sold that car years later and regretted it ever since. My camaro is my N/A only because i want to see how far i can take it without forced induction. So for me the challenge isn't how fast i can be its how fast can i make this car with the limits i put on it. Im a better driver in it now for sure. |

I just cleaned her up to get rid of the winter road grime, and the drive afterwards re-reinforced my original decision to keep this car as my forever Camaro. Such a wonderful car, not perfect in every way, but it is in all that really matters to me (and, I guess, the majority of true enthusiasts). A joy to drive even when chilling around the city, knowing full well that the raging wild animal is just a few inches of pedal travel away.

If it doesn’t rain next weekend, I am washing mine, taking pictures and listing it for sale. After 6 years in the platform I am bored and want to try something different.
I agree with you that nothing that’s currently being made is appealing. The only car that’s new that I would want to replace my Camaro with is a C8 Z06 but that’s wayyyy out of my price range. Same with the Dark Horse SC (although I’m not sure I’d like this option enough to forgo the manual. C8Z06 I’d be okay forgoing the manual. I am going “backwards” and buying a car that I have always wanted. It will be worse in a lot of ways than my Camaro, but also better in ways that I care more about. Edit: if GM had a car in between the SS and ZL1 that splits the horsepower difference, that’s what I would have gone for instead.

What are you getting? A car that could split the difference is a CT4-V blackwing with a tune. |

A 13/14 GT500. True a CT4 V blackwing with a tune probably moves but the V6 doesn’t excite me and neither do sedans. More of a RWD, manual, V8 Coupe guy. Only option brand new left is a Mustang but I don’t like the interior and I kind of want to go backwards so my fun car is more raw. If GM brings back a Camaro in that form but with a more boost friendly motor I’d get a 7th gen at some point.

I regret selling my 4th gen SS, I won’t make that mistake again with this car.

Not interested in going into the motor of any car at this point in my life. Maybe when I make more money that can be something I try. I have thought about instead of getting a new car going heads/cam/FBO but decided against it.

I plan on keeping my SS for quite a while, but the only other option currently out there would be either a Dark Horse or a GT premium. probably the dark horse. maybe something else will come out in the future, have to wait and see.
