I dont know if this happens to you guys, but if I'm just cruising in the right line minding my own business. It never fails for every half ton pickup with a flowmaster will find his way next to me and then end up flooring it like he has something that can show me what's up. Honestly light throttle my car is pretty quiet on the highway and when I'm not driving it like i stole it , i just go the speed of the right lane.

Does this happen to you guys?

Some are in their own little world and don't know any better...lol.. I run into them at any given moment around here...You have to choose to ignore or hand out the lesson...I had a new Chevy 2500 diesel roll up on me last year ON THE HIGHWAY...Guess he wanted to see what all that money bought him..Had to show him he's in a truck not an SS...

I don't notice them driving any differently then normal. A bunch of them already drive like assholes around here no matter what I'm driving.


The kinda of vehicles that look like they're trying to race with me are Mustangs and the like. Some import cars, and for whatever reason bikes? I never got racing a car against a bike..
I did actually floor it when some Harley did it cause I'm like, pssh, just a Harley, but damn, even that thing was fast. Definitely not the same lame Harley I rode on years ago. We ended up being pretty similar speeds and ended the little pull with a big ol smile and thumbs up to each other.

It happens to me in my Silverado TrailBoss all the time....why the hell do other idiots with trucks act like a 5000+lb truck is a "sports car". You know how stupid it is and looks for two random full size trucks to be racing each other!!?? I don't give in to their stupidity in my truck.
When I'm in my ZL1, there are a few random 5.0's, Chargers and Challengers that attempt it as well, so I'll blip the throttle to show them they're not worth any more gas than just a throttle blip to me.

I just keep it pushing these days. I got nothing to prove to the guy next to me attempting to bait me into a race so most of the time I don't even look and just keep my line of sight straight on.

Mrs Number 3 had a CTF Gen 5 Z06. We were on Woodward Avenue and a kid pulls up next to us in a Ford Probe revving his engine to high heaven. I asked him, “do you see the badge on the fender? I have 405 HP”. In his best War Boy impression he screamed, “IVE GOT NITROUS MAN!” He sped off from the light as we laiughed.

I get that all the time in all my fast cars that some red neck by heck in a big ugly tank tried to race. Now that i got something really fast they never try as what i got no one even know what it is.

I think what's really going on in a lot of cases is they just wanna see you spin 'em. It's the equivalent of the "Do it for Dale" crowd that stands by the side of the road at a Cars & Coffee.

Diesel trucks or Infinity G35/37/Q50. Just got their bully dog tuner and deleted the truck..... now its the fastest thing on the road. Same with the Infinity group. Straight piped with the pops and bang tune makes them the fastest on the road.

Yes! Its like these infinitis sedans were free or something. They are everywhere. Stop lights, highways, back of a wrecker.

It can be crazy sometimes. I've had a few instances where people try to pull you into racing, and when you don't bite, they do a close, dangerous lane change in front of the car.

Part of the reason I went with a blacked out car is that I don't want to attract attention, but that hasn't kept me from having some close calls.

I love pushing my car and having fun, but I know where I can get away with it and I save the big fun for road course track time. Not going light to light next to someone with a straight piped Nissan Altima.
