When I take the car out of storage I am going to experiment, as I'm interested in the throttle and steering difference. Sport steering has a nice weight, but the throttle is a little touchy.
Thinking I may just pull the fuse to see how big of a difference it makes. Being a 1SS with a manual, the drive mode has no effect on suspension or shift feel (although I like to think I shift in track mode myself )

![]() I know our valves aren't that sophisticated, but hey, it might be possible to switch to improved actuators that support partial open/close states (maybe those beefy Cadillac CT5-V one do, I don't know), and then a more sophisticated tune is actually usable.

Since my car will be out of warrantee in 8 or so months, I was thinking about making a few small changes to my LT1.
1. I’d like to have sport and track steering feel (I never use comfort). Having an LT1 limits me to sport and comfort. 2. Disable AFM 3. Detune the newer exhaust crackle to match the earlier years. Does anyone have a rough idea what that will cost me for HP tuner and points? |

Very much agree, I'd like to see a little more functionality out of the set up but outside of switching to Caddy valves it stays the way it is for now on mine. Going over to a Switchpath muffler set up would be really cool, but I'm so tired of modding on this car that I just want to drive it and most of the time I can't even do that because something is always breaking on it. Latest is my Soler TB that is freaking out in the 5,000 range and not setting codes for it. Lol.

Full time in Sport mode! Although I have the steering set to Sport no matter which drive mode is selected, and the NPP fuse is pulled.
No track option here... |

Almost always in Sport. Sometimes Tour on the highway. I have the fuse pulled so mufflers always open. I got a Mamo throttle body in December and have no problem with the throttle in any mode.

Track mode with nannie’s off unless I need to use cruise control - that has to be in Sport.

Exhaust in track full time, cruising in tour. Unless you have Mag ride suspension it's not effected by any mode. I will occasionally drop it in track if someone pulls along side and gets playfull. What I notice is track mode on track the car is a beast when you have it dialed up but when you drive in track mode on the street the car will adjust to your driving style or throttle, it's not going to shift at redline like it does on track unless you are real aggressive. I have no issues driving with the nannies on the street but on track everything gets turned off.

After trying out the different modes for a while, I think track is the best for town driving and still use tour for highway driving.
track mode has the best throttle smoothness for town driving I think. I have my suspension, steering, exhaust set to stay unchanged in settings so it just adjusts the throttle and shifting I think. |

Another idea to try out is to spray some wd 40 on the throttle pedal, i did that to mine last night and drove it on tour mode this morning and throttle control seemed to be smoother. will have to try it on sport mode and see if it helped the throttle sensitivity on that.

Whenever it rains, I revert back to tour mode for the most part, and on the rare occasion my wife needs to drive the car, she is instructed to use snow/ice mode exclusively
