Wiring harness connectors
So I have not posted on this.
But have any of you had issues with the wiring harness connectors being we shall say Leaky? I bought my 2019 1LE and love the car. But from the first day I had issues with the typical Service Stabilitrac and Service rear differential. Fortunately I caught it within Arizonas used car implied warranty period 15 days and less than 500 miles. Called the dealership (private German car shop) and they have been stellar. But the repair shops had a hard time finding the issue. Being an electrician with high end troubleshooting background. I felt this was an electrical issue with the harness, as the error codes all came up with communication issues within the CAN bus. It first went to a private repair shop and they had the car three times without resolution before giving up and throwing in the towel. And I kept telling my dealership hey this is most likely water getting into the harness somewhere as it will be good for a while and when it rains the communication issues surface. Given the low voltage of the CAN bus, any water intrusion will interfere with proper data signal. Short story long it now has been to the small independant shop the previously mentioned 3 times and now a chevy dealership 3 more times for a total of 6 times of being in the shop in 6 months. The dealership I bought the car from has footed 100% of all the bills. So I do not hold them at fault. I get frustrated but they have been doing all the can to get me taken care of. Called today to see what the status of my car is and He said my ears must be burning as Chevy just called and they are replacing 2 wiring harness connectors. They found some on the last trip as well. So now that you are all fast asleep, how many of you have had water intrusion problems with the connectors in the harness??? I know there are issues with oversize tire wearing thru the harness on the drivers side, and the header issues with melting the harness, just did not know if my case was common also.

There are several independent can busses. Any idea what codes?
Usually you're gonna have a pretty standard U1000 code but you can get sub code number that will indicate which can bus is not communicating. If you have no place to start then try things related to your first thought. Things that get wet. Steering rack connector, trunk flooding and drowning the fuel pump control module, water intruding the electric parking brake module, eLSD module case broken open from a rock. Out if 100 techs probably 3 could tell you how a can bus actually works. Out of 500 techs probably less than 10 can actually diagnose can bus faults. Our cars are kind of a mesh bus layout. Things like the pcm will not have a dedicated connection to the data link connector, it will be more like the DLC goes into the power steering contol module, then leaves from there in the same bus but in different wires to the ABS module. Then leaves that to the PCM. But also a whole different bus will go from the PCM to a common bus controller in a mostly star setup. So you need to see the topology of the communication network as a whole, then look at all of the modules codes to help narrow down where to start. If all of the modules say lost communication to PSCM then it would be a good idea to inspect the rack for damage to the connectors and housing. Last edited by bishopts; 02-13-2026 at 08:12 PM. |

This. If you have a 1LE you have an extra module standard that not all Camaro’s have. The mag ride module is underneath the trunk carpet.

Good Information,
So lets start with Codes. I have got a bunch of them. ABS codes; P069E, uo42B-71, u0140-00, u0073-00, C0050-05 ECM codes; in addition to U0140-00 and U073-00, we added U0121-00 body control codes; we add B3121-05, b1325-03 chassis: u0415-00, u0415-71 SCM; u0100-00 Most of these show a communication error based on my scan tool which is an Innova 5610. Now as far as the connector they have ordered this time they told my dealership that it is a 13580230. Which I doubt is correct since that is a fuel injector pigtail. It is frustrating as each time it rains it has been default back to Service Stabilitrac, and Service Rear Axle. So each time results in no ABS, Rear E-diff, or Stabilitrac which can be an interesting thing in the cold or wet. Lets just say I have 4 flat spotted Michelins to show for it.

I will say I have never noticed any water in the trunk.
Usually it will occur after driving in the rain. Like getting wet from tire spray. Not necessarily sitting in the rain.

I would look in the trunk. Pull all the trim panels out and look for wet things. Make sure the seals are on, close someone with a flashlight in the trunk and put a water hose to replicate heavy rain.

So far this trip has netted a right rear wheel speed sensor connector was loose and not holding the connector on the sensor side so they replaced the pigtail connector.
Also the tech notice random MPH while driving the car and found a TSB relating to the rear wheel bearing hub that the toner ring can cause a code. So they are replacing the rear hub bearing assembly. So this has been after 5 weeks in the shop this time. And probably 6-7 weeks by the time I get it back again.

I will definitely check the trunk once I have the car back.

Trust me it has not been easy.
5 1/2 weeks this time that Chevy had it. 6 weeks one of the previous times. I think it spends most of that time sitting on the lot collecting dust. Got it back last Wednesday. We shall see when it gets wet out. We have chances of thunderstorms tonight. So if it rains I will be out looking for a service rear axle indication.
