You're sure making it sounds like a tempting upgrade!

I do feel like there is a bit of a lag in the throttle, like you said, mainly with manual rev matching. Getting rid of that sounds pretty sweet!

The installation was straight forward and was completed in about 15 minutes. I opted to disconnect the intake elbow at only the throttle body which made a bit of a tight work area but was doable. The tools required were a 1/4" drive ratchet with long extension, a 7mm socket for the intake elbow clamp, a 10mm socket for the throttle body bolts, and a 1/4" drive inch-pounds torque wrench for tightening the throttle body bolts. The throttle body cable plug was a bit of a bear. I couldn't get the grey plastic lock to move and ended up breaking it. The plug still clicks and holds tight so no big deal. It'll be easier to remove next time.

I had the same problem with the plug. I figured out after I broke the tab that, unlike most GM plugs, you don't slid the tab outward. You're supposed to slide it toward the plug body. Like you said, it seems to hold pretty tight. Glad you got it done. I agree with everything you said about the improved performance. Very pleased.

Started taking the wheels off and cleaning/inspecting. Drivers side done. Also ceramic coated the calipers and wheels.

Installed the JXB Performance Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Carrier. Decided to go with the track bushing for a little more firmness. Easy to do with the right tools and a noticeable feel and sound. Worth it IMO

I had zero problem with that plug, pulled the red tab on the back, squeezed the plug and it came right off. easiest GM plug ever. I wonder why folks have such a hard time.

I just spent hours/whole day using iron remover by carpro and an apc to clean the rust from the pads off the drums. hosed em down, then applied a ceramic coating (carpro D quartz). Very happy with my application and removal. Did two applications on front and back on all 4 wheels. followed up with arpro reload to give them that extra shine. noticed they were still holding up from last summer so the new carport d quartz is my upgrade from quartz UK 3.0 and dlux. dlux was a pain and I wouldn't recommend it.

I didn't have any issues either. I did read bishopts thread about his install before I did mine. Credit to him, he specifically mentioned the plug with a pic.

Mamo motorsports throttle body install
I didn't read anything if his. Seemed self explanatory and after you mangle 1 GM connector you learn how to properly take them off. I have keys and different devices to help with removal but this had to of literally been the easiest I have ever done and I never even looked at the plug from the back side. In fast I assumed the piece you pull up was red as they traditionally are but in this case I guess it was grey

Have you noticed less vibration and can you feel less play?

Definitely less play. With the BMR differential bushings and the JXB driveshaft carrier the car feels more responsive, with the pedal having no hesitation and better connected to the rest of the car.

The short drive I did resulted in no increased vibration (the cars so stiff I couldn’t tell if it had), but it did result in a nice “purr.” Not obnoxious or from a potential problem, but rather sound that complements the car. If I can record the sound I’ll post it on my journal thread.

Thanks for posting and thanks for your feedback. Definitely sounds like a worthwhile add on. I just purchased the street version. I'll keep you posted on the results.

I just used the adams spray ceramic as thats all I had and with as dirty as the calipers/wheels get I will probably give them a good yearly cleaning. Got the remaining pass side done yesterday. The first startup and quick drive to reposition the car in the garage was nice. Come on spring!

How difficult is the install? Did you have to lower or remove the exhaust?
