E brake sometimes disengages when blipping the throttle?

This randomly occurs. Not all the time. That’s the confusing part. Not touching brake or clutch pedals. In neutral. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, sometimes when I forget to manually disengage it and tap the gas, it will disengage.

Isn't that normal? It is supposed to automatically disengage when you get going either forward or backward.

In gear yes, I back out of the garage and forget all the time, but he mentions that it happens in neutral.

I assume he means when idling in neutral with the e-brake engaged, like if giving it a quick rev at a car show or something.

Ah yes, I missed the neutral part. I'm not super familiar with the TR-3160, perhaps the gear sensor is on its way out, intermittently making the ECM think the car is in gear...?

If your foot is not on the brake, the car may detect it ever so slightly moving when you rev it, thinking you're trying to drive??

On GM cars I believe applying the throttle disengages the park brake. On VW Jetta, it stays on. Cadillac is like you described.

Yes flat ground in garage is a common example. It’s odd. Not the end of the world though.
