Has anyone noticed losing Special Functions features?

I'm still on an MPVI2+, and because of some transmission stuff I've been working on (T93), I wanted to do a reset of fast learn and adaptives and whatever. However - I noticed that I don't see any of these when I connect...

Is this because of being forced into the MPVI4? If so, there was some stuff I wanted to keep this '2+ for, because I have a GMT800 that I want to be able to fart around on when I want to, and don't want to loose that capability. I thought we lost something when moving into an MPVI3 or something...

Am I making that up? Has anyone else, with an older MPVI' noticed a loss in the Special Functions and such?

Are you running Beta or Stable?

Our stuff functions best with Beta. Just figured I should throw it out there.

I'm usually running on a relatively current BETA and will default back to a Stable when something weird happens, but that's not, hardly, often.

I spent an hour (mostly because I'm an idiot) reverting back to an older BETA version. I didn't have a chance to hook it up to try, but I'm going to, and see if it comes back. I think that will confirm my suspicions. If I'm correct, I think the best course of action is to not update anymore. I only tune on my few GM cars, and I have no need to get a 3/4, and I'd had no issues with most of the last BETAs. There were only one or two definitions that seemed interesting, related to TB calibration, but that was it. I have all the T93 stuff that's interesting, so.

I'll check back in to confirm...

I STRONGLY dislike this recent push to make people update to newer hardware BS that most manufacturers got going on now. If you paid for something you should have full access to everything which is available for it at all times. That is what you paid for.

We live in odd times my friend.

Yes, sir. I, completely, agree...

No dice. I went back, almost a year, and still nothing. I'm too irritated to reach out to HPTuners and get them the crap they always want, so I'll stop complaining.

It DOES seem there is a procedure I've never notice, but after what it will take to do it, I think the TCM will have done what I'm trying to force. Whatever...

I figured out the fast learn stuff wasn't possible on vcm scanner and t93 when I did my last trans build. I actually took my car to the dealer, they did it quick and didn't even charge me.

It's just weird I SWEAR I was able to do it within the last year or so. It looks like we have to wait to get up to a certain temperature range now for it to become available I guess, but whatever. That's good to know you had a good experience. I might just drive the car instead and see if it will relearn on it's own without issue.
