I think you may have missed the 2nd question, which is "Will the newest version of HP Tuners VCM Editor still allow me to access the emissions parameters?" Starting a few years ago, HP Tuners required users to take an online training course to access the codes you mentioned. If you look at the comments under the youtube video I posted, people are having issues accessing the parameters even after taking the training course. That youtube video is from 3 years ago, and the most recent comments within the last few months are people having issues. So I'm trying to determine if HP Tuners has just locked people out of emissions parameters completely. Also, despite the more recent restrictions, even if it was "easy", it's certainly not inexpensive HP Tuners requires 4 credits at $49.99 each for '17-'24 Camaros. So even if I already owned a MPVI 2, 3, or 4, I'd still have to to pay $200 just to turn off the codes. I currently don't own HP tuners hardware, and if I buy directly from HP Tuners, it's $400 for a MPVI4. Plus I would still need to purchase a used laptop or a cheap one on Amazon, so lets say $300? That's a grand total of $900 just to disable codes Also, a basic search on ebay doesn't show any results for MPVI units, so I doubt there is an abundance of used ones. Please don't take the above comments as an attack on you Josh. I actually agree with your sentiment and I'm trying to perform these mods as "correctly" as possible. I just keep running into expensive and frustrating obstacles and I can't seem to find answers. |

![]() As far as the latest version of HPT and what it can do, I’d reach out to KingLT1 or Megahurtz on the forum for some preliminary help. The good news is that buying all the HPT tuning hardware, unlocking, and credits is a one time deal. So you buy that all, get help remotely to prep your car for the headers and other hardware, and then upload that preliminary tune. And your MPVI will be ready for you for any other tuning you need to do down the road at no extra charge. Then, install your mods, and have the tuner of your choice tweak it from there. You don’t have to pay for any of the HPT stuff again! Your car will be licensed to your MPVI device. So even if you go to a local dyno for tuning (don’t lol), you can hand them your MPVI and they’ll tune the car through YOUR device. Hope that makes sense.

In the past year I've removed the codes necessary to accomplish what you're trying to do. Im actually between laptops so i cant check if recently things have changed. I know for sure they pulled the ability to remove p0301-p0308. (Cylinder specific misfire codes) p0300 is still accessible to remove, which one of least useful codes ever made. But out of fear of inadvertently removing p0301-p0308 by removing p0300 i just left it alone.
The Camaro engine controller changed in 2019 so i can only speak for 2016-2018 cars because that's what i have. As far as buying the hardware. Its worth its weight for sure. Its not just a programming tool. You can use it to do limited bidirectional scanner functions and also very detailed data logging for diagnostics. Also you have the ability to change parameters to better fit how you want your car. For example I'm running a cooler fan cycle to keep temperatures down to better control coolant pressure on the plastic components. More modern MVPI units can do stand alone data logging which is helpful for trying to get a broad view on how your engine is performing or to try and catch an intermittent fault. |

Here is an example for you. These codes dont set a light but will be there until i turn them back on and plug sensors in.
If they were removed before the exhaust was installed then i wouldnt have to see them. Honestly the access i have to used part i could easily remove them. But since my car will still pass with them in history I really dont care. |
