To me the standard ss/LT1 ride is between tour and sport on a magride ss and the 1le is really close to sport on the ss. The short front 1le tire really gives a sharper hit to the bump. if you go to non run flat on the LT1/SS, like a ps4s, it’s no contest..the ride really is super soft over bumps

I was thinking if I was to order a new manual car, whether to go 2SS no magride. I am really impressed with the non magride feel. If I go 2ss with magride then I am so close to a 2ss 1le in cost, it would make sense to go 1le, but I want the white interior and don’t care for the big brakes or alcantara. Don’t know which way to go

MRC is very good, you can cover or replace the alcantara steering wheel, the matte hood is just a removable vinyl wrap, the seats should be fine (you won't touch them), and you probably do want the wheels and tires, which would later bump a 2SS build over the cost of a 1LE for less content. (The only reason I didn't get the 1LE myself in 2018 is that I wanted an automatic and that wasn't offered back then.)

For sure, I had a 2SS (non-Mag ride) rental a couple years ago and it was kinda rough on some bumpy NC roads. Borrowed my dad's ZL1 (NOT 1LE) for a few days and the ride was actually a bit softer in Touring mode compared to the SS. Pretty amazing what GM has done with the magnetic shocks on these cars.

How does your SS1LE compares to your previous GTR?

SS 1LE daily driver.....Update to Bilstein B-14
Quote:
I have a regular 1SS, which I tracked for years. After a wreck out on the track took out chunks of aging rubber off the car I added the SS 1LE rims, Continental DWS, and integrating the Biltein B-14 kit gave me the most stable platform I can imagine while keeping streetability. Pictures to follow but it is NOT a real 1LE. Stabilitrac only |

I know that the SS1LE is very special for track usage.
I did a quick test of one during winter it was about 40 F, and noticed that the car didn't had any traction in the back during cold weather because of its tires. For daily and spirited driving I consider that my SS2 has sufficient great handling, also I don't have a close by track and we don't have good curved roads were I live. After owning a Corvette C7 with the Z51 package don't see the reason to pay additional cost of consumables like replacing for wider tires and bigger brakes. If I had a near track without a doubt I would get a SS1LE. Both are great sport cars, is just depends on your needs.
