Looks interesting but it seems to cut off part of the “factory” display when he showed the radio. It feels a little like one of those AliExpress head units I’ve seen. I had one of them in my Outback, the screen was garbage and wireless CarPlay lagged so bad.

I’ve seen this company’s products for the 5th gen and Mustangs, look really cool but rarely ever actually see someone install it.

I’m not a big fan of aftermarket radios, I’ve installed two before in older cars just to get CarPlay. I don’t want any extra features, maybe a front camera would be nice but wouldn’t swap an entire radio just for it. Plus the factory radio isn’t like the 5th gen where it’s showing its age in processing power. Just my 2¢

Brutal

Anybody willing to guinea pig this for the community ? The product description is very sparse, as expected, and nothing beats real world testing anyway.

Good thing the aftermarket has figured out the 6th gen infotainment, hopefully some more conservative options will come out, too, because this giant horizontal layout is definitely not for everyone. A new radio could also have a different tilt angle, something many complain about when seeing it the first time in a 6th gen.

...indeed it looks like there already are a few that aren't so ginormous and preserve the design of bezel shape, too, so they don't look like an alien slab.

Don't think any of them support the spectrum lighting feature, though.

Apparently there's even a compatible digital cluster, too, I didn't even know this was possible

These look nifty, but why android 13? It makes me worried about lifespan. How long will android 13 be compatible with google services? Version 14 was released in 2023. I imagine these devices will never get a firmware update, so it's just however long the google apps are targetting a min version of 13. I use android auto currently, but it seems like the cluster upgrade embedded maps feature is not mirroring the aa display but works off direct functionality. The review videos leave a lot to be desired. I've used these Chinese factory replacement head units in other cars before that use android and while it worked, things like audio were substandard. Bt protocols weren't as good. That was a while ago though...when such things were new in the market.

The new cluster is very attractive. Seems like the reviewer really seems to think watching videos is a big draw, along with its own radio... Which i couldn't care less about. Really don't know who's listening to the radio ...i assume it's to bypass the MOST system? .. what i care about is that it doesn't crash or overheat, it doesn't have audio quality regressions when using AA, and it is visible in direct sunlight and that it's not about to be obsolete in it's features anytime soon with it's old version of android and no hope of onging updates.

Very cool to see this is possible. I do like the stock higher trim one, but it's nice to see if someone wants to upgrade it's an option.

I wonder if the stock one could be hacked and upgraded.. just with some added features/themes.. (doubtful, but for some reason that's where my mind is going)

The reviewer craftily minimized the impact of glare with this new cluster that is missing the extra outer anti-glare plexiglass shield for some weird reason. Perhaps it can be transferred over from the stock cluster.

I for one don't mind the dated Android version, the vendor can upgrade it anytime if they want to keep supporting the units longer term (highly doubtful, but hey, we can be optimistic, can't we).

An even more awesome feature would be to allow customers to program these clusters themselves. For example, the 1LE guys could add support for their PTM modes, or one could add line lock or custom launch control config screens etc., fix the stupid different redlines in every drive mode, support more gauges, change the car graphics to match one's actual vehicle, and..., and ...
