So from what I've seen and what I've been told, there will be a V8 Chevrolet badged car built alongside the next gen CT5. Will it be called Camaro? I don't know and the eventual name may not have even been decided at this point.

Dark Horse SC, don't like the naming of that one at all.

Should've maybe went for a Boss nameplate. That's been missing since the S197 era. Although I guess "Boss 317" wouldn't have quite the same ring to it, since they are using a 5.2 Liter in this one.

My bet is it's not a Camaro but, something more like the Chevell or Malibu in size.

When Pontiac folded and the G8 was repackaged as a Chevrolet, several of us tried to push the name Chevelle for the Chevy version. Didn't fly. Chevy SS. 17 years later and different leaders in Product Development and Marketing maybe it can work this time.

I think Malibu is a long shot. Most drivers associate Malibu with a practical midsize. Most drivers (other than those of us of a certain age) don't even have a reference for Chevelle. I think it would be more difficult to change people's thinking of the Malibu brand than it would be to work with Chevelle as a blank slate.

There are enough people who recognize Impala as a car that ranges from practical family hauler to kick-ass performance car. So my thoughts in order of likelihood are:
  1. Camaro
  2. Impala
  3. Something completely different
  4. Chevelle
  5. Malibu

Still can't figure out why they named a vehicle MODEL after the most successful TRIM name that Chevy had. Chevelle SS, Camaro SS, Impala SS, Nova SS, all great trims! That naming drove me nuts though.

I agree that Malibu would probably be a bad choice too.

I'm for keeping the Camaro name, just don't screw it up and offer a manual!

Just what we need. I think Lumina sounds like it should be electric, with lots of LEDs.

Any idea when the new CT5 is scheduled to start? 2027?
would be cool to get some news on what other model they are going to build along side the CT5.
I bet it will be a Camaro7. hopefully.
just googled it and it says yeah next gen Ct5 is planned for 27.
they might build another model at lansing also, since the Ct4 is leaving.
probably want 3 models being built there.
