Talking The ALL NEW 2026 F-Body Camaro SS

The day after Chevy breaks the internet with the C8 ZR1X incredible 0-60mph and 1/4mi times... the internet breaks again with the announcement of the '26 Ford Camaro SS/SC Edition!

Unoriginal bastards!!! Noooooo..they didn't take ANY design from the Camaro....please..

It's just too bad that the ACTUAL Camaro looks better than it's knockoff wannabe competior!

Given that Chevy made the asinine decision to concede the pony car segment to Ford, it's kind of hard(for me at least) to point and laugh at a Mustang that produces almost 800 hp from the factory.

I hear what you're saying, but I'll still point and laugh at Mustangs FOR you, all day. Stupid, yes, of GM to get rid of the Camaro, but I/we/those that want or wanted one, got one and for me, I love my ZL1. 650hp/650tq stock with internals that can handle 1,000hp for $67,000. I'll take that over any Mustang(stock or not) all day, every day.

There is an old saying that may apply in this situation... "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".

Personally, I hope to see those 800 hp Mustangs all over the place. Given that Ford is producing such vehicles, possibly sales of that Mustang will be the catalyst to get GM in gear to produce a 7 Gen Camaro. If so, maybe GM can imitate those factory horsepower numbers.

FYI stock Coyote Gen3 and Gen 4 5.0 engines handle 1000 BHP and every bit the stock LT4 bottom end can handle all day long for half the price. And the Predator 5.2 in the GT500 and new DH SC can handle twice the LT4 power (so 1300 BHP) without breaking a sweat. I love my Camaro but let’s not pretend Ford doesn’t offer some good alternatives.

They even copied the botched 2019 SS front fascia Unreal how much its spec sheet at https://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/ shares with the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE from 9 years ago, or 10 if we go with announcement dates.

Then again, they're in commendably still in the game and pretty much alone at this point, so they get to lean back and do whatever the heck they want. It is what it is.

I'm not saying they don't offer good alternatives. I'm saying cost/hp wise, I'll take the ZL1 all the time. The GT500 and this new DH SC are alot more expensive
(Stock) then my ZL1 was. Not to mention, at $20-30k more than my ZL1, the GT500 should be embarrassed that with it's 110 more hp, the ZL1 can hold it's own against it. I'll never own a Ford product, but that is just me.
The one thing they have over the Camaro that I'll give them is, at least they weren't stupid like GM and they are keeping the Mustang alive. GM needs new leadership, then just MAYBE the Camaro V8's can be brought back to life?

Im happy to see that Ford and Chevy have decided to team up and deliver an ICE product.

The Performance of Chevy
The Marketing of Ford

We may actually be in for a long run this time around.
