Cleaning oxidation from exhaust pipes, muffler

I bought my 24 SS with only 7 miles on it, but the previous owner i discovered must had stored the car with road salt residue on the exhaust. discovered it when it got here when i looked under it. i took it to the car wash and used soap and water, that helped some but still does not look like new. it is not noticeable unless you look under the car.
can a auto repair shop use something to clean the exhaust up while they put it on a lift? was thinking of calling a local shop to see.
the car was originally delivered from chevy to a dealer in minnesota, so maybe it got the salt while it was being trucked there? don't know why nobody ever thought to clean the undercarriage, kinda irritating. otherwise the car is like new. the guy who owned before me was in ohio, but i don't think he ever drove it.
the SS have stainless steel exhaust correct? so should not rust easily?

Bar keepers worked on my ARH system to remove some surface rust, but that was 304 steel. I'm not sure if factory exhaust is 409 or 304.

I painted my suitcase muffler matte black using high temp paint, it looks a million times better than stock.

Evapo-Rust will take care of the rust. You will probably need to follow that with steel wool to get aesthetic desired.

yeah i had thought of that idea, any issues with it chipping or anything? i used to have a lowered pickup with side pipes painted black and they chipped like a mofo lol. always trying to touch up the chips respraying it.
i did work on cleaning it up last night, used the eagle polish that you tear a piece off and polish with it. used some barkeepers also with a scrub sponge. it improved it, still not shiny but good enough i think. i could only reach the pipes up just past the front of the axle, had it on a couple boards in garage and still kinda low to get under there. good enough. then i got under the whole car with a hose and sprayed the whole underbody.
kinda irritating the previous owner was supposedly a collector and did not clean under the body, he never drove it with only 7 miles on it when i got it. everything else looked brand new. even the plastic was on the radio screen.
how does the black suitcase look against the chrome tips? think i will leave mine alone for now, but that is an option. did you also paint the pipes up till the axle or just the suitcase?

Nah, I haven't noticed any chipping or flaking, that's where high temp paint helps as it isn't affected even by large temperature swings (what you see in the picture below is just dirt). I only painted the suitcase and not the pipes themselves.

Chrome tips give a nice contrast against the black pipes. The tips get dirty fairly quickly inside, and I'm actually considering painting their insides black, too
