An example of what it happening would be. If your pedal is at 0% then at 800rpm your throttle body will learn something like 4% is going to be a good place to hold 800rpm. Then you add the new throttle body and 4% might be a little too much and end up at 950rpm. So it will back the percentage down to what it needs to be to hold 800rpm. That backing down is it learning. The reason it needs to know this is so when your coming to a stop and your going to drop from something like 50% to idle, so if it knows the minimum it should be is 4% then it will not drop below that even though the APP on the pedal drops to 0%. Keeps it from dying when you let off the gas. Every now and then the percentage that it know vs what it really is may be off. Usually when that happens you need to use a scanner to learn the throttle closed position, which is really rezeroing the TPS. |

Some cars run perfect right from the first fire up....others take a few minutes to correct for the different airflow. The computer will do what its supposed to do and meter the A/F ratio accordingly to what the MAF is sensing with the new TB's. Older cars with dirtier TB's see a larger adjustment at first because there is carbon and light oil on the blade so it has compensated already for a reduction in flow and now your installing a fresh new ported TB which offers more flow at the same throttle angles. At the end of the day its nothing that the computer cant handle pretty much immediately. I have designed them purposely so the difference in very low throttle angles is minimal which makes it easy for the ECM to adjust without much fanfare Install and enjoy! (And if its any more difficult than that give me a call or shoot me an email!) Cheers, Tony |

Well, found this thread from C7 forums. Someone dyno tested their V3 Tony Mamo ported throttle body with their C7 Grand Sport. It is a good read with positive results, 7HP and 5 lbft gain. The TB starts to shine after 4500 rpm.

Here's my feedback.
Installed the new TB this weekend. Really simple installation process, literally was done in less than 15 mins. Had some rain here on Friday, but started to clear up and dry out on Saturday. Waited until Saturday to do the test drive. Temps in the 50s. Let the car idle for about 10 mins or so to warm up. Idle was normal/smooth as expected. Noticed the difference in drivability as soon as I pulled out of the driveway. Did a couple of hard 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. The car is more responsive with no stumble or delay at all when hitting the pedal. Pulls better up through the rpm range. As others have stated, the mod makes the car more enjoyable to drive. Add me to the satisfied customer list.

I especially got a kick out of your comment about "pulling out of the driveway" as I have literally posted that previously in other threads. As soon as you back out and point the car in the right forward direction you immediately notice the improvement. I laugh because it sounds like a sales pitch while in fact being 100% true! Enjoy it guys....my mission is to have no Camaro owners on this forum driving on their poorly designed OEM TB!!

Start reading from here, I have a few posts there... Very happy with the product and even more so, the support from Tony!
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...6#post11499526 and here... https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=30 and here... https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=32 Honestly, it is a shame Tony didn't have a way to whack GM upside the head in 2016 when the 6th Gen came out and said "OK, you knuckleheads, your TB sucks and stop recycling the same POS, here is what you need to use, offer your customers another 10HP and a whole lot better driving experience for basically no more money..."

I already have a banks throttle controller on my car which has been a lot of fun tbh. Would this work okay if I used them together?
Asking incase anyone here has. Thanks |

If it works with the stock throttle body then i would think it would work fine. You have the option of a 30 day money back guarantee. Talk to Tony about it.

Also the controllers are not as smooth as metering the actual airflow with a properly designed TB and there are zero gains in WOT with a controller where you see real gains with the TB as that is an actual modification that adds a bunch of airflow (23% more than stock at a higher rate of speed). My suggestion is to try no controller at first and see how you like the feel of just the TB upgrade.....then if your looking for more you can creep up on it with the controller but I guarantee you will have a less aggressive setting on the controller when the smoke clears with the ported TB on there. Bottom line it's not a problem and I do offer the 30 day guarantee so if your not thrilled with it just send it back but Im confident that won't be the case Cheers, Tony |

GM Stock... ![]() Tony's OEM GM Part, ported... Look how much nicer! ![]() No sharp angles or edges, just nice smooth flow and a thinned out center crossbar, effectively opening up more area and reducing turbulence... A different shot of both... ![]() ![]() It is REALLY what GM should have done in the first place... It is a really nice improvement/upgrade... And Tony's Customer Support is top shelf, so take him up on the offer, you have 30 days to get you money back... But you won't need to worry about sending it back...
