Yes you are right Toronto and Montreal Canada are definitely high in terms of auto theft, however most of the vehicles stolen in Canada are SUV's and CUV's, specifically cars like the Toyota Rav4 and Honda CRV's.
I haven't heard of many muscle cars like the Camaro and Mustang being stolen.
Most are stolen by the thieves using an antenna �� to steal the codes from people's remotes, or by plugging into the OBD2 port with a notebook computer.
Never have I seen on the news tow trucks bring used to steal cars in my area.
If I get any V8 Camaro I will take the necessary steps of using a faraday pouch, installing some type of fuel cut off, and when I park it overnight, I'll make sure I have a motion detector from my home alarm in the
car.
If anybody were to break into the car my home alarm would go crazy and I'd come out of the house with a large can of bear spray.��
This anti theft device is probably what I would go with if I were to buy a ZL1 Camaro.

Since you already owned a Corvette C7. as a reference the Alpha chassis on the 6th gen Camaros is a better performing chassis. MT keep complaining of the C7 Z06 nervous behavior, but that HP SC engine on the ZL1 was perfect. The suspension, brakes, tires on the ZL1 and the SS1LE are similar, the main difference is the SC. More power VS a less weight slightly more balanced N.A. sport car. Both are great muscle/sport cars.
