Found mine today. I almost threw the intake cover away but glad I didn’t.

I wish that we had a more concrete way to establish what got the plaque and what didn't.
I have a 23 SS manual with no plaque. Was it still hand built and they omitted the plaque? Who knows, that doesn't make sense though.

after reading most every post from late 2022 and the reference of stopping the plaque in june2022, my take is that July 2022 builds must not have received plaques for whatever reason. I saw post for cars built late June and mid August 2022 having the plaque but 2 post for cars built in July without it. My car built 07/23/2022 does not have it but by all means should. The Aug 22 car is like mine LT1/MN6/NPP and it got it.
Does anyone have a plaque on a July 2022 build date (2023model year) that is not a 1LE OR ZL1? Your car will have a really low vin number. mine is 100907. |

Just to be clear, you are looking under the cover, right? The plaque is not in plain view. |

By "under the cover" do you mean remove the Black "Camaro" covers and you can see it, or pull off the grey/silver intake cover to see it? |

Remove the driver side "Camaro" cover. If you have a plaque, it will be visible on that side of the silver intake manifold cover.

I'd be interested to see the failure rate of motors that are PBC vs non-PBC cars.

yes i pulled the covers and no good. i checked to see if maybe it fell off and i did not see anything. my next venture is to see if they were installed at the plant or dealer prep item? i know my car absolutely arrived with not 1 emblem installed on the exterior. i will say that it burns my a$$ to not have it knowing the criteria is met.

I think people are seeing this thread, but not reading it through.
You will only have the plaque if your car is a 2020-2023 (maybe 2019, but I don't remember) AND your car is a manual. NOT all 2023's will have it. They stopped putting in on mid 2023. I have a late 2023 and don't have it. I believe all LT4's have them though. It does not matter if your car is an LT1, SS or SS 1LE. As long as you have an LT1 engine AND fit the criteria above, you will have it. I don't believe anyone figured out the exact date the plaque was no longer put on/PBC built it. We also don't know for sure if they stopped building them at PBC or if they still built them there, but stopped putting the plaques on. One other thing, they are NOT left over C7 engines. Manufactures do not just have a stockpile of engines waiting to go in cars. All of them are JIT (just in time) manufactures. And even if they were, they are no different than the Camaro/L86 engines aside from exhaust and intake manifolds and the oil pan and pump.

Having worked in transportation and materials management at a GM plant for several years, this is 100% correct. No automotive manufacturer accidentally makes a whole bunch of extra engines, and says, "Whoops, we have a bunch of Corvette engines left over, let's stick some in Camaros." When I hear Mr. Redneck Know-It-All say something like this, I just shake my head and laugh. Every part is carefully budgeted and planned with a specific purpose. And yes, things happen and situations change, and extra parts do happen. But I can assure you, they don't just change plans on a whim.
