Congrats! I had a 98 Z28, back in 99 to 03. The 6th Gen SS is so much better in every way. You’ll love it. Best of luck!

Congrats on the new ride! Looks good.
Lots of good info here on this board about it. Being a '23 with a M6, you might want to pop off the driver side fuel rail cover and see if you have a PBC engine. Here's a 2020 thread about it: PERFORMANCE ENGINE CENTER PLAQUE

Congratulations. Welcome to the party. I just passed 30k miles on my 22, and it still makes me happy every time I drive it.
If you're not loving the fender hash marks, removing them earlier is better than later. Enjoy your new ride! |

Beautiful SS. Love the color. Congrats on the purchase. My 2016 1SS M6 is the most reliable car I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot, and it's an awesome sports car. Put a smile on my face every time I cranked it up. Have fun! Know I did.

Do you guys think the (probably unlikely) announcement of a 7th gen in 2027 or beyond would pull the rug out on these high prices immediately? If yes, how much and how quickly? |

These design and manufacturing prep processes take at least 3 to 4 years for a new generation, and AFAIK all previous 7th gen plans were scrapped. Also, there is no immediate new platform to base it on unless GM would want to reuse Alpha, which in turn would mean the car would be essentially the same with similar compromises, making the comeback even less likely. It's much more likely that GM would try to milk the brand and come up with a hybrid or EV four-door "Camaro" akin to the "Mustang" SUV, which we hopefully all agree isn't a Camaro but a vehicle nobody here really cares about.

Its pretty unlikely a 7th gen would even be a 2 door sports car. So i would plan on depreciation moving slowly on 6th gen cars.

Congrats on your new purchase.
I've personally never driven a 6th gen Camaro but I hope to do so early in the new year. I've called 2 dealerships and let them know I'm interested in their Camaro they have listed for sale, and when I called to arrange a test drive they all said "oh we don't allow test drives on these types of vehicles." How crazy is that, they expect someone to buy a car without a test drive? After my experience with buying a GR Corolla I promised myself I would never, ever buy a new car without at least 1 extensive test drive, and maybe 2 or even 3 test drives to make sure it's the right vehicle for me. This is why so many people go out buy cars with only a short test drive around the block, take it home and have buyer's remorse the next week. Also, I will never test drive a vehicle with the salesman present in the passenger seat. You can never get a good feel for a car when you've got someone sitting babysitting you. And if the dealership refuses to let me test drive a car without a salesman present, I'll just walk away. The only vehicle I bought/ordered with a salesman sitting in the passenger seat during my test drive was an Ariel Atom, and that was a very unique, vehicle/situation/experience. However, I believe I found a way around this, so I'll keep you guys posted. |

Same will happen with the Camaro, assuming they bring it back in the future, even as an EV, and it looks good, has good range, and a ton of HP. I know it hurts people's feelings here, and even mine since I love V8s, but it just is what it is. Last edited by Texas1ss; 01-01-2026 at 01:45 PM. |

I did read that Ford spent $19.5 billion in order to cancel plans for a new electric commercial van and stop making its F-150 Lightning (fully electric). Also repurpose a new factory in Tennessee to build gas powered pick-ups instead of electric, while cancelling a contract with a Korean battery maker and to stop making car batteries here in the US and make batteries for data centers instead. So, I suppose anything is possible for the future of "muscle cars". Of course, for much of the country the driving season for them may continue to shrink if we keep getting this crazy, unexplainable weather. ![]() OP your new car is beautiful and yeah you're gonna love it. It is a "keeper". |
