For the money and performance-looks which one would you recommend.
Thanks Mark |

Definitely a RotoFab intake. All quality intakes are pricey now but check out Summit Racing for their prices. I bought one for my ZL1 back in 2020 and very satisfied with the looks and slight performance benefit. Btw mine has the oiled filter. Good luck.

I went with the oiled carbon fiber K&N intake(Part# 63-3099). I like the looks of it and unless you have mods done, unfortunately no intake brand will give you a significant increase in performance/power in stock form.
. There is more supercharger whine than before(which is cool to hear), so other than that and looks, unfortunately that's about all they(intakes) give you. A guy I work with has a 2021 ZL1 with Roto-Fab(I've ridden in his and he's ridden in mine). We both agreed that neither mine nor his has more or less supercharger whine noise. They're pretty much the same SORRY about the sideways pics!!!! ![]()

If you want vroom vroom sound then go Rotofab.
Otherwise, OEM is great as it is and just run an AEM dry panel filter.

^^^ this, plus the Roto-Fab also looks very cool.
None of these intakes alone give you any perceptible performance gains in case you're looking for that.

Oh I forgot to mention OEM with the snow blocker removed with the dry filter to improve airflow.

Everyone is just going to name the one they have (hint: Rotofab had a big presence on this forum
) but in reality the stock air intake isn't much of a restriction and a bigger tube is a bigger tube regardless of who makes it. Every brand will likely be within tolerance and random variance if all things equal.

Good point about the stock intake, though, it may look bland but isn't much of a restriction, especially if one is willing to cut out the bottom and use a less restrictive filter element.

Coming from the Baby RotoFab, tested the Big Gulp but hated the trackability of the throttle and poor scalability of the mid-to-part-WOT transitions when at the edge of the track in a 140mph corner looking at a concrete wall... yeah, no one gets it.
I switched to the JLT. I was tired of my Rotofab air filter being filled with gravel it found from the open base of the housing. The front did not seal very well either. The JLT comes with BOTH intake tubes, so you can run with a "No Tune" 4-inch tube or a monstrous 5-in tube with half a dozen throttle body connectors all ready to go for any combo you have... for less money than a Baby RotoFab. Tracking with the JLT is super smooth in the throttle control, no debris from the fender liner gets in and the ram-air to the behind the headlamp is legit! The JLT also seals perfectly to my hood with the entire rain panel removed and my scoop dropped 3.5" for more airflow and less front end lift! I usually keep them in stock, so LMK if you want one! The filter is also much larger than the RotoFab Big Gulp by 20%! |

There's no doubt that the jlt flowes more air, the problem is fitment issues . It's not going to fit out of the box, they're still backordered, and the fit and finish isn't very well either. I would steer clear of jlt imo unless you're ready to customize it and you're good with your hands. This intake also makes it so you can't use the brackets to lower the hood without extreme modifications to the box, so the filter is exposed to the elements. They also refused to refund me because it took so long to get a replacement airbox (that still isn't right).

keep an eye out, there was a new RotoFab on craigslist in my town, and they are on sale on here & the facebook page all the time.
my only question buying used, is knowing does the ZL1/supercharged motor use the same CAI as the normally aspirated motor? |
