Too many electronics on cars now, not worth the risk for me. X2...Contact Todd Sutherland at MacMulkin Chevrolet in Nashua, NH for the best deal on a Genuine Chevy warranty.

Or just go without the bumper to bumper, still have the powertrain warranty for 5 years.
Just curious what others have done, thanks
I think the price is negotiable also, so may be able to get a good deal from the dealership.
I had around, I think it was, in the low 80,000 miles on my 2016 M6 1SS and wanted to extend it to be safe. The dealer wanted almost $5,000. I took a hard pass. But it was my daily and no garage queen. Didn't want to risk it. Then a friend told me about our credit union we're both a member of that offered an extended warranty through Route 66. They only write through credit unions, though.

I checked, and surprisingly for $2,300 I got another 5 years and 60k miles bumper to bumper, minus wear and tear and wiring issues. It paid for itself, as well, and I never had any issues. I had around $4,000 in claims, no deductible, and they paid every time. They even paid for both front control arm assemblies, which blew my mind.

Great company if anybody here is a member of a credit union that has access to the company. GM's extended warranties are too dang expensive, and I've heard horror stories about other third-party warranties.

I got mine through a credit union, opened a small account to qualify.

I got a couple quotes from GM direct sellers and they required an inspection that I had a hard time getting.

Route 66 cost was less for longer terms.
84/100 $100 deductible for under $3k.
For me, like you, it is worth the risk for the complexity of these cars and the known issues.

Yeah, it is really worth it with the complexity of vehicles today. I keep my cars a long time, and this last time it paid off luckily, with no issues whatsoever on my claims. Great company.

With the prices of the computers, the warranty could pay for it self one time. Plus add in the pain in the a$$ it is to now work on them.

I hear you. Other people might want to gamble, but I'm dang glad I didn't with the Camaro.

My first vehicle at 15 years old was a '69 Mustang with a straight six, that after working at Autozone a couple of years I dropped a 302 crate motor in and got all the high performance parts at a nice discount. It was so easy working on those old muscle cars. Times have definitely changed. Gas mileage is better, though, with all the newer tech. That's one plus with all the complexity. I was lucky to get 8 mpg.

I gambled on the extended warranty with this in mind. I had just experienced a complete display failure on a SAAB 93 I had hoped to keep for a long time. Car drove fine, but I had no displays and no A/C.
I have had no issues with computer modules on this Camaro. Ext. warranty expired without being used.
EDIT:
I bought a 2017 model in late 2016. If I had waited for 2019, I probably would've checked here to get an idea of failures and skipped it.

Beware of documentation requirements. Either get service at places that list on Carfax (or similar) or get receipts that show milieage as well. If going the DIY route, take pictures of receipts along with your odometer in view.

I did not. And I did not need it.

Fixed my factory-defective top sliding panels myself, with priceless assistance of this forum.

As a couple people have mentioned above, Route 66 is a great choice. I have a GM warranty on my Camaro, but I have Route 66 on my Jeep, and we have it on my wife’s Mini Cooper. I’ve used it several times, and have had no issue with them paying the covered items, swiftly and it’s a no deductible warranty plan that we have.
