Air filter screws

I had an oil change place loose two of the screws from the air filter housing. Just letting people know that the GM part number for the exact replacement is 13384934 for a 2018 LGX and I assume all of the other years. None of the parts places list the screw part number separately only the entire air filter housing assembly.

The phillips head sucks. Keeps me from checking it as often as I would if it was hex head. I would like to find hex head screws that would work. The air filter is the same part for 4,6 and 8 cylinder, so I imagine same air box. I have read the inlet to the air box the weak point for air flow.

Agreed they were on very tight and eventually after a certain amount of remove / install I'm guessing the plastic screw holes could strip out.

It doesn't feel like the plastic will wear or strip out .The Phillies head screws are hard to keep a grip on. A ratchet screwdriver makes it easier. If the plastic striped out I would put Teflon tape on the screw threads.

Really stupid of GM to not just use clips. Why complicate things?
