snow\ice setting

i know most every car that has ever had this button will shift early to help maintain traction in wet\ice conditions.

i was wondering what is it doing on my car since i have a manual trans?
it was raining today and i was trying to test it on slick roads. the steering feels the same and the throttle feels the same. so is it even doing anything?

It should be pulling power (or maybe just remapping the throttle pedal?) and maybe changing the diff characteristics. I'm not sure if it changes the damper settings from Tour mode. I know my SS 1LE feels sluggish and unresponsive in Snow/Ice mode compared to Tour.

When we attended the Ron Fellows Corvette Driving School, they wet down the parking lot and had us put the cars in Snow/Ice mode. It was virtually impossible to get the car to spin out. The traction and stability control intervention is incredible.

If I'm driving through heavy rain in my ZL1 I generally put it in Snow/Ice mode to hopefully help prevent hydroplaning.

Never tried it. But I've noticed mine seems to pull throttle input--on it's own--when temps get lower and/or it's wet out. I notice it at times even when the temps are in the 60*F range. It feels like the car isn't as fast.

I'm guessing that snow/ice mode is even more intrusive.

All it does is desensitize the gas pedal which is drive by wire. On a car with auto trans I think it may also change the shift points and firmness to make is less likely to break loose. Neither are perfect but it may help slightly.

I normally drive in sport mode. The last time I used it I noticed it took noticeably more throttle to get going without a bog in 1st gear

my last one was a stick and I drove it in snow and it will not let you spin the tires in snow/ice mode. It really pulls throttle. When I would go up my driveway on ice I had to turn TC off in order to make it in the garage.
