There is an alternative...
Our 3000 sq/ft warehouse behind the shop can store lots of Snowbird cars that might wish to join us for track days in December through March... days at amazing tracks like Road Atlanta, VIR, CMP, Roebling, Sebring or even Daytona! Just a thought... but free Winter Storage is an option here in SOUTH Carolina just 45 minutes away from the race track. |

I've been storing my offseason cars and motorcycles for 20 years. If an outlet is available where I store, I leave the battery connected and use a tender. If no power available, I'll disconnect the battery and leave it with no tender. Sometimes I would take the battery out and bring it to my garage where I could leave it on a tender, but sometimes I didn't and it was fine in the spring.

I connect my tender under the hood. There are a variety of ways to route the wiring so you can completely close the hood if you want, but I can leave my hood popped open slightly even with the car cover on. If I want to close the hood completely, I will route the wire through the grille. |

A lot of good advice. I just don't understand the desire for some people to disconnect the battery. Just leave it on a tender.

If your garage doesn't have a lot of wind coming in from doors that open regularly, i would suggest sprikling powdered Gain laundry detergent under the car and near the garage door seal. Its pretty much the same rodent deterrent as laundry sheets and moth balls. Just makes the whole garage smell better too.
