Put me down for a set if you order them! I think that would be a VERY popular seller btw.

Did you do that yourself or have someone do it for you dude? I have been wanting to do mine for a while but haven't felt like messing with CB set ups on any car, though with the power we make, I know I need to do it.

I've had mine since I snapped my carbo fiber and realized one like that was required for racing. At least I thought it was ! I can say it does it's job, and I can say it looks cool when I have the car on the lift !

That CB is still on my to do list. You might as well hit it while she's down, let me know how it turns out!

Well, well, well... how things seem to evolve. What started as a small project has led to a major one. Lot's of factors here... have ultimately led me to pull the engine once again for a "refresh" of sorts. Having seen Scott's build with the failing valve guides and a few other buddies who recently had motor failures at my power level, and considering some of the other things I wanted to do to the car... led me to pull the F*ing engine again for a rebuild.

Luckily pulling the motor was quick based on where I was at with my build, and that gave me the ability to partner with my new engine builder who I will be using with GMS to develop a line of turn-key short block options... (lots more on that to follow)

Long story short, what we found after just 8,350 miles was semi-alarming.

A: Major valve guide wear (already started messing with the seats of the valves)
B: Signs of the main caps shifting.
C: Debris and scaring on the rod bearings

Based on a collaboration with my engine builder + tuner + based on what others have shared "failure wise" we will be doing the following...

1: Upgrading the rods, pistons, bearings, on the short block + all ARP hardware.
2: Heads will be fully rebuilt + new valve job + roller tip rockers
3: Swapping over to a BTR Stage.I Cam (going to shave the fuel lobe down to 32% for a happier HPFP)
4: Compression will likely be raised to a full point.
5: Will be installing an XDI Goliath HPFP so that I can run straight E85
6: Will likely upgrade to 2" Headers (not sure yet)
7: Now I can more easily install my Monster Triple S Clutch
8. Going to upgrade my Ethanol Sensor and fuel line routing (super excited to share what we came up with)
9. And just a little more engine dress up just for fun.
10. Going to be working with DYME to upgrade the connections on my fuel lines, oil cooler lines, and supercharger cooling system (super excited to see how that evolves)

Really just focusing on more durability... not necessarily making more power, but I assume we will be around 900rwhp with low boost and low rpm. That said, I believe my builder said the short block will be rated for 1,200hp... so it should be alot happier for longer compared to OEM.

Had we been aiming for more, it would have been a great time to sleeve the block and add cubes but I am still focused on simply being more efficient, with a stock ported blower, on street tires.

That said... I will be sharing alot more content during the rebuild... stay tune

Damn, that escalated quickly! Looking forward to see what you come up with…! I know at some point I’ll need to do a short block upgrade as well.

HAHA, yes it did... and I am glad that I did. it revealed issues that would have 100% lead to a premature failure.

Best of all, the relationship between myself, my new engine builder, and tuner is going to lead to some very cool things down the road... More on that later!

Water.

Did you get a chance to test the Ridetech on the highway before you pulled the engine?

Gabe, wow bro! That's a good catch that you decided to take a deep dive and look in to all that before slapping that clutch back on and hitting the pavement! That being said! That mid winter/spring trip for you and your wife to Yellow Springs, so we can see Chapelle. Might just be what the Dr. ordered!!!

Good luck!

The fretting on the caps is concerning.

Would you like to try my new Terminator 2 cam with 32% lobe?

I believe it is exactly what you want.
