If I had a shop, I would have an older MPVI1 or 2(for legacy stuff) and a new one. You need a 3/4 for Global B. I always use the Beta software as well. It has the most features. It's not any more difficult to use than stable.

I have an MPVI2 and it's the best of both worlds for now, it already has bluetooth but still supports the older, unencumbered versions of VCM Suite.

Yep...but 2 isn't compatible with global b. Only reason why I didn't pick up a 2 in the event I decide to start tuning global B stuff. And I don't want to give up my 1 since it supports legacy stuff. So, I will probably grab a 3/4 outright at some point. But for those that are just focused on their 6th gen platform, there really is no big benefit between a 2,3, or 4.

Yeah, good point about Global B, I just forgot that others may not share my strong sentiment to not buy any GM vehicles based on that.

It's somewhat similar to my situation with the 1LE package... I would've gotten it if GM had offered it with the auto trans in 2018, but before they started doing so (with the 10L80), they'd effed up so many other aspects of the Camaro that upgrading my car was no longer a realistic option either, meaning no uncompromised solution exists... that's the similarity. Sure, I upgraded some parts of my car with 1LE stuff, probably paying as much or more than the $7K option price, but it's still not a 1LE.

Meh. I'd rather have your car than a 1LE, personally.

I have to update to the latest beta version in order to open his tune file. I never had to do that with both the tuner and I using the stable version

Isn't it the same price as the 3? I see the 3 listed for $399 and the 4 listed for the same price. This is one of the few products I've seen that has resisted inflation.

This is Apple and the iPhone in a nut shell haha, OP if you want the "latest and greatest" and you're being sold on it then it's a "must have", with that being said if you have a couple of hours I would like to sell you on a time share in Jamaica when you have time to talk.

I read somewhere (reddit?) that once they get through the initial backlog after this initial release, they would offer upgrade pricing.

Global B costs more to tune but I do like the wideband O2s from the factory. Some of the ECM self tuning is really impressive.

So... I have a IM, TB, flex fuel and wideband ready in the garage. Just need to install and get it remotely tuned.

That said, both 3 and 4 are priced the same at $399. Should I get the 4 becuase it's new or 3 because of potential lost features?

Also, anyone want to recommend where to tune local or remote? I leave near Sacramento, CA.

Thanks in advance!

It's really not that big of a deal. You can still pass.
